IMO using words like conflicted are drumming up the drama. Conflicted at the FRC is usually taken as the lead not being sure whom to pick, but IMO in this case it's conflicted feelings about hurting the f2, having gone through the same twice himself. IMO there are no conflicted feelings about who he wants to be with, at all. JMO

Looks like Nick and Vanessa have gone radio silent. I mean it's actually a good sign but sucks for me because I'm nosy.

I hope that Vanessa helps Nick with his SM game. I love Nick - but the vacant gym selfies?  No thanks, next. Luckily for him, I think V's SM is on point. 

I'm excited to see Nick's IG finally reflect a woman. There has just been a sadness in his eyes, imo, the entire time we have "known" him. I'm curious to see if that changes with V in his life.

I am waiting for their first IG pictures together. And the interviews they're able to do due to his dwts practicing.

I thought Nick did react, there were tears in his eyes. Not that there aren't half the time, but I thought he looked deeply moved, so much so that he couldn't say anything even if he wanted to. JMO.

I saw the tears and wet eyes too. He does that often when talking to Vanessa (her family too) its one of his tells as to what he's really feeling even if he's not speaking the words.

I'm so curious to see Nick's tone. Will he be IG gushy and in love? Or more guarded and keep it close to the vest?

@sosleepy IMO he'll be gushy. I bet we'll see a tear or two in his eyes.

Apologies in advance for the length... In regards to any conflict I don't interpret that to be anything relating to Nick making a choice or in regards to Vanessa at all since he already stated in his Flare Mag article that he didn't fall in love with two women (so only fell in love with one woman).

The conflict I imagine Nick would feel is having to put someone through what he was put through. I think it would be agony to Nick who has shown great empathy to the women he has let go already that weren't even F2 to have to put someone else through what he did. No doubt it would have brought back a ton of really really bad memories of his heart getting broken and him feeling like a joke as he said the second time and so I can only imagine the pain Nick was reliving and being on the other side -- because if anyone really knows what it's like to be F2.... it's Nick.

So I think it was solely that full-circle moment when the shoe is on the other foot and someone as compassionate and empathetic as Nick is I can see him being a basket case because he relates to pain on this show far more than he does happiness. It's why I can see why he would relate more to the heartbreak of being F2 than the happiness of F1... because IMHO... even though Nick is the Bachelor, I think Nick would see himself as F1 if Vanessa says yes to him.

From the getgo, Nick's greatest concern was being rejected even as the Bachelor. It may be a storyboard for an edit, but IMO it is a real fear and reality for Nick having gone through what he has. It's why I think Nick cried happy tears on his first date with Vanessa and that he said he had hope and IMO that hope was that he would fall in love with Vanessa and that love would be returned with Vanessa saying "yes" to a proposal.

And yet up until the FRC and proposal to Vanessa, I can still see Nick having those fears that Vanessa would reject his proposal even though she had already told him she loved him (because he experienced a woman telling him she loves him and still rejected his proposal before). So Vanessa saying she loves him would not be enough to make Nick no longer fear and if anything, I think hearing Vanessa loves him would feel incredible but at the same time could make him fear even more that he could face a greater pain than ever before.

It's why as much as I really like Vanessa I see this from Nick's POV because it's his journey and it's one with such a heartbreaking past. No doubt IMO that Nick will be making the greatest leap of faith he ever has in his life this FRC/season because as Nick told Vanessa, when he says "I love you" it will be for a love that is greater than ever before and so the risk is even higher for Nick to hear "yes" if/when he proposes to Vanessa. I can only imagine that Nick will cry tears of joy if/when Vanessa says "yes" to his proposal and I for one can't wait to watch that moment when Nick hears "yes" from the woman he loves!

Wasn't Vanessa's I love you on fantasy date actually the second time she told Nick? I seem to recall she first told him I love you (or did she say I'm falling in love with you?) before hometown dates when he replied with "I like, like, you a lot" ? which she said in a personal interview was disappointing & their feelings may not be in the same place.

She said she was falling in love with him on their second 1 on 1 and then this past episode said she was in love with him.

Yes. The conflict came from the "empathy" he felt for someone whose heart he will break, so it was hard for him to do.

Nick’s final date with Vanessa starts as a hike to a special secret destination: the snow-covered cottage of Santa Claus. Santa’s workshop even has a special gift for Vanessa. But the evening portion is dominated by what compromises they will need to make on where to live and family traditions. Her lingering questions and the fact that she may not be ready to accept a proposal leave Nick with a haunting apprehension of his past. Would he be left at the altar again if he asks Vanessa to marry him?
