Rachel Lindsay - Bachelor 21 - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - #2

She was totally gunning for bachelorette even though before coming on she had never seen an episode of this show and was so clueless as to how the show worked other girls had to explain how the process works throughout the show. Totally gunning for the 'ette even though someone she knows applied her and she just continued the process for the experience. Such an evil genius, was so cunning that when the 'ette was offered she didn't even take the offer seriously at first. A real mastermind that one Rachel. And Vanessa, know-er of all things well she just knew because when she's around these women, all so unworthy of Nick's attention/affections (unlike her of course), her spidey sense just goes a tingling. :dripdrip

The notion that Rachel was gunning for the 'ette is laughable IMO. Other people have mentioned Vanessa, Rachel hasn't, her friend Kristina has posted shady things about Vanessa, Rachel's said nothing, other people have implied there was a conflict in the house with Vanessa, Rachel's kept quiet, she hasn't tweeted, retweeted, liked anything negative on twitter or IG about Vanessa. In fact since the show's started airing Rachel hasn't so much as acknowledged Vanessa's existence at all. ONE person here has seen this video where all this goes down and said all this happens (no offence to the original poster) but we all watch the same show every week and have different takes about what takes place on screen so forming judgement on a video we haven't even seen is weird IMO. So once again, I'm more than a little dubious that whatever happened took place as is being painted. All JMO.

Prefacing this to make it very clear that I'm not saying I buy the theory of Rachel gunning for the lead and Vanessa calling her out on it or anything like that. But that said, nothing you pointed out is proof that Rachel could not have at some point in the season started eyeing the lead role. And plenty of people have had people apply for them, including Vanessa herself. And someone just saying they never watched the show doesn't make it a fact. Again, I'm not saying Rachel was a liar just making the point that none of this is proof positive that she wasn't gunning for the lead.

Nick had never really watched the show until his friend applied for him and I think before filming started he binge watched Des' season I think. But for the most part, he claimed it wasn't something he'd really watched before coming on and that didn't stop Chris and company from claiming he was only interested in being the next Bachelor and he wasn't genuine in his feelings for Andi.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in case you're referring to my post, which is in line with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I'd like to clarify ... that "gunning" probably isn't a right word, but that the idea might have been presented by the producer at the time is plausible, since it happened before in previous seasons. There's also a chance that Rachel could have known that Nick isn't interested in her more than he was in Vanessa, so if by any chance she had listened to the producers about the possibility I personally wouldn't have seen it as her masterminding or playing games ... so those are not my words.

Note that despite all of my guesses I've continued to like Rachel and support her being the next Bachelorette ... but I wasn't the one calling Vanessa the minor villain and blaming the fight on her, despite not knowing what was even said and how ... but the context at the time wasn't important, because RS "spoke the truth".
