Married at First Sight will first air a matchmaking special at 8PM ET/PT, followed by the Season 5 premiere -- Episodes 1 and 2 -- from 9-11:30PM ET/PT on Lifetime. The first four editions of the series aired on Lifetime's sister network, FYI.

In addition, the show's new spinoff, Married at First Sight: Second Chances, will premiere one week later on Thursday, April 27 at 10:15PM ET/PT, directly after the original series' third episode. The first Second Chances broadcast will be one hour and 45 minutes long.

Married at First Sight's fifth season will be comprised of 17 episodes, while its Second Chances spinoff will air over the course of 12 episodes.

1st one: Clips of various family members/friends reacting to news that their loved one is getting married at first sight--"For real? married for the rest of your life?" "I hope you won't be hurt if this doesn't work out." The participants aren't shown in this clip, just their voices.

2nd one: Clips of the brides and grooms being nervous on their wedding days, taking deep breaths, saying things like "This is for real" and "I'm freaking out."

@LetsGoAs Thank you so much. This was very annoying for us out of the USA previous seasons, because every time there is a link/vid it takes me to the Canadian site and of course there isn't a vid to watch. FYI did the same thing.

Does anyone know why MAFS Season 5 and MAFS Second Chances are on Lifetime now? Lower Ratings? Do you think that it will get as much promotion with Lifetime as it did with AETV and FYI? Do you think any former cast members will promote it now that it is on a different network which they were never involved with?

I want to thank you all for posting this info -- I had no idea when either show was coming on or that it was being shown on Lifetime until I saw it here today. Looking forward to it -- hopefully, this will be a really good cast and the matches are actually good ones. I like the romance and relationship building/development much more than the conflict and drama, so I hope they casted for and show more of that personally.

From the few articles I read it simply said it was moving to Lifetime. I read the wiki's on Lifetime and FYI and it's too confusing for me to care. One bought the other and so on and so forth, throw in the Canadian content and it ends up being a mish mash. From what I can tell Lifetime is geared towards women.

According to wiki Lifetime is available to 90mil Americans, and FYI 70mil, so I'm not sure it has anything to do with ratings? I can't remember what the ratings were but I always thought they did well?

@suzq Since I read your post I've been checking my channel line up and it looks like I'm going to have to pay extra for that channel.

@reason I'm wondering if there is something in my bundle I can substitute it with. I checked W and FYI Canadian sites which I have now, and they don't have it listed in their channel line up. I'm with Cogeco, I will call them.
