I think he said to get over his past relationship and move on

I think it may have been a bit therapeutic for him too so maybe a good thing at the end?

while waiting for the ep to end and a dl link i've been rewatching yesterday's ep and there really seems to be some competition from jake's side towards lee. first after the date card he says he thinks he has done more to deserve it, and then during the GD while writing the lyrics he goes on about how he's good with words and how he's better than Lee and that's good. someone feels threatened. see those are the little things that put me off of Jake, like he's trying to be better than others etc.

on another note, i've been listening to 'end of the rose' on repeat

This is where I can see that GL and Courtney are actually a lot alike but instead of it flowing and making things more easy it seems to cause them to repel
