Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I don't think they're "dumb" or "wrong," but I do think they both lack a significant amount of warmth as people and it shines through in these sm postings for their anniversary, how he doesn't understand why she's upset about the wedding or Jo, and why she comes off as holier than thou IMO.

These are opinions not comparing. Please respect that not everyone is going to be a fan.

It's all process and they are going at their own pace with their given personalities. It's all good. They will get married. JMO!

I know what you meant Alanna. And though I disagree, that's an opinion and fair. I was responding to certain posts that compared BenLo's anni to how other couples decided to display, with the subtext being the other couples did it "better." I think that's silly.

You know I only feel sorry for Lauren, I really do. This also makes me admire on how strong she is.

She had to deal with Ben and his ILY to Jojo .
She had to deal with Jojo fans who were cussing her in social media, and you know she handled like a pro, most days.
She quit her job and followed Ben, because you know..she fell in love.
Now, now that poor girl after setting all her dreams with Ben and everything she had to deal with Ben, sitting there, blindsiding her that he can't get married.

I mean poor Lauren, because she the one have to deal with this whenever Ben is in his feelings. She is the one that deals with the backlash because of Ben's actions. I am not going to sit here and act like I was their biggest fan, but man I believe in love. I may have fave couples in this franchise, but I am a romantic.

Having said so, I remember reading Sean's book that they were times when it was really tough for him and Catherine. The were times they nearly called it quits too. But look at them now, celebration 4 years of engagement yesterday, now happily married and have a baby together. My point is, I do believe that they can make it, but Ben better get his a** together, because he has been nothing but an a** to Lauren. All she does is give and love him, and all he does is being an a**.

Ben tweeted a picture from a year ago on twitter and Instagram, although on Instagram it was part of a four picture collage. Lauren, though posted a picture of her sister. She was far more gushing and cutsie when it was the year anniversary of their meeting. I don't know why her sister was  her choice today. She is very close to her sister but even that picture was one she had posted before. She is the one, in my opinion, acting different then I thought she would today.
Eta @stacynor I feel the exact same except I am a fan of them and I do feel so bad for her.

Back to Benlo though, I still believe they will get married fairly soon. Like I've said before, mostly because they feel so strongly that they will. And less to do with how they're being perceived whether postive or negative, as individuals and as partners in their relationship. IMO.

Do you mean warmth to eachother? I believe Ben has shown unbelievable warmth and compassion and we've witnessed it so much with his work with humanity and hope. Lauren we haven't known her long enough but she seems very compassionate towards children and animals. Plus their compassion for their families.
Their eyes speak more than volumes or a social media post could ever exhibit. love and compassion is not only exhibited through words but actions. We have no idea their conversations today or how they are celebrating this day. I didn't celebrate my engagement anniversary with a social media post. BenLo have acknowledged it to the world, that's good enough whether I was a fan or not

Ditto to all of this. If I were Lauren, I would honestly peace out already. Ben has put her through so much pain and embarrassment in the last year, it's crazy. Yeah, Ben is a really selfless guy when it comes to helping others and yada yada yada, but it seems like he's the most selfish guy when it comes to relationships. He needs a reality check. And Lauren needs to be the one to give it to him, because I think at some point, he's gonna have to listen to her, if he doesn't want her to walk. IMO.

^^ Agree Len. Honestly I think a lot of these issues with Ben stem from being an only child. Plus it's clear to me that Ben's parents (who couldn't have any more children) clearly treat Ben like the sun shines out his a$$. I'm not saying ALL only children have these interpersonal skill problems, but I do think Ben is missing some ability to take ownership, interpersonal skills and intimacy that he might have gained with a sibling or 2.

Lauren has so far been patient, compromising, compassionate and understanding. I hope he realizes what he has sitting right in front of him. For someone that feels unlovable, from what we see on the outside it appears she always puts him and them #1 and just tries to move forward.

It's fine in a General discussion thread to make a comparison to other contestants for general discussion purposes, but it's not fine to be rude or condescending in nature or to other posters.
