Snez didn't have this kind of edit though, did she? It was more about her being a single parent and whether Sam would be ready for that role of he chose her. Olena's edit is kind of having a dig at her IMO.

The producers/editors use what they have from the cast to craft a storyline, not every season is exactly the same, they work with what they have got. If Olena starts opening up and giving Richie what he "needs", but the audience is still left with that bit of "doubt", then Olena is getting a f1 edit (there isn't a the f1 edit IMO).

IMO Snez had an excellent edit. She always came across as open, giving, gentle and kind. Plus very sexy! (well that's what my husband said once but since I look nothing like her I told him to shut up )

She also was not involved in any of the dramatics at the house. Once Heather left, and my bias had gone, I could see that Snez was the obvious F1 and had been from the very first CP. Sam thought she was one hot mama!

Love, love all of your observations and comments. Somethings I look for during edited conversations on this show is the body language and non verbals.
Something I've notice in Richie's and Olenas conversation is that they appear quite animated, smiles at each other and seeming to get along just fine

What is interesting is that twice this season I have seen similarities with how Snez was and how Nikki is.

Snez would give a hug or squeeze a hand for someone if they were in bottom 2 at RC, being eliminated, etc. She was a bit of the mother hen for them all.

I see the same with Nikki how she reached for Alex to be there for her when Alex said Rachael had told her that Nikki was already the winner and then again in this past episode we see Nikki reaching to hug Olena after she was in bottom 2.

So I see Nikki as the mother hen as well and like Snez and the TPTB chose to show (that's the significant part to me) both Snez and Nikki comforting others even though they are seen as frontrunners and a threat to the other girls.

Interestingly, to add to some similarities, BTS photos published by media such as Elle magazine (and subsequently taken down...) the comparison was made in those articles to Snez and Sam kissing during a GD like Richie and Nikki did.

Doesn't appear to be the same for Blake's hometown visits in series one. Hometown visits went in this order I believe:

1. Louise
2. Sam
3. Lisa
4. Jessica

Sorry I should have clarified better. This was the order the hometown visits happened in not the order of promo's for hometown visits in Blake's series. Not sure about order of promos in his series.

I on contrary see Richie completely himself with Olena. I see him smiling and laughing and cracking "dirty" jokes (that we know he is capable of), he is an "older, wiser man" with her and that gives him a confidence in their conversations. He lets them flow, he isn't leading her for the "perfect scene" they have to shoot, he leaves her do her thing and he reacts/responds ... if that means there are not so "positive" reactions from him such as doubt, fear, irritation/frustration, then that for me only solidifies that there are important feelings he is trying to deal with or he would let her go.

As for compatibility ... I read a lot about how wonderfully compatible is Nikki with Richie ... and as I see the episodes I presume it is from the (pre-season and during) sleuthing, since all this compatibility is not so obvious to me just watching the show. Yes, he is complimenting her and praising how wonderful she is ... and saying she is his "perfect match", but he could be thinking the same for any other girl and we wouldn't know. Nikki is mostly put in front as this great catch ... who has everything going for her, who has all the qualities Richie is looking for ... and still ... I don't see "it".

For example, during their mini 1on1 at the camp ... he seemed more "cautious" with Nikki in what he said to her, that's how I often see his conversations with Nikki, he is giving the "perfect responses" to her, but to me that is Richie the lead.

While with Olena his responses are reactive ... they come from the gut, not for the "perfect setting" and I don't think there's Richie the bachelor, but just Richie craving for his love to be reciprocated.
