I had noticed very little IG posting by JP lately and even Ashley had not posted much the last several days. Then today she posted a story thanking someone for helping with the kids.

This is no joke. My BIL hadn't been heard from in days and hubby went to investigate and found him incoherent and in pain and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. He still has some effects from it - over a decade later. I'm hopeful that JP received treatment soon enough to avoid the worst. Bless their little family - so scary.

Ashley has since posted that he was diagnosed yesterday so it sounds like they might have found it relatively quickly. He did a series of IG stories talking about what he was up against and sounded like he knows it is going to be a struggle but he also sounded very hopeful.

My daughter had Guillain-Barre in her early twenties - fortunately, as soon she noticed symptoms, we were able to see a doctor who diagnosed the illness with a spinal tap. Thankfully she recovered completely without any paralysis. I hope JP was diagnosed early enough as well. It’s a very scary situation and my heart goes out to them.

So sad to hear about JP's diagnosis. Praying for a complete recovery for him, but he should be on the lookout for other autoimmune diseases as one can lead to another. AI diseases are nothing to take lightly.

JP has an IG story up. The symptoms appear to have plateaued, he just had physical therapy and is being discharged. I'm sure there is much more to go but at least he is going home. He is thankful for the outpouring of messages and prayers.
