I pulled over and took an exit to a strip mall and sure enough Ben gave me a call and asked for my blessing. I think the effort to take the time to do that really sums up what kind of a person he is.”

They didn't show this because he only did it to Lauren's dad. Dead give away that it's just Lauren and the two ILY in the FD would have not worked, which was obviously a sham!

Great article and gives me more reasons to like Dave Bushnell - a class act and a great role model.

It also supports what is often wished for but not often found - evidence of just what was left on the cutting room floor. Not only IMO the initial conversation with Dave when Ben asked for Lauren's hand in marriage - which we now know happened and wasn't shown (likely IMO because Dave was the only father Ben asked) but also this part which Lauren said:

"Especially on our first date we talked about a lot of things you might not typically talk about. We talked about family and our beliefs, the things we want in life. It set the stage for the rest of it, and the chemistry was there from the get-go."

I always felt that first date was very significant and it seems like a lot more was discussed that we didn't get to see - which would probably have made the ending even more obvious had it been shown.

Really incredible support. Dave Bushnell risked missing his fligh to go home to talk with Ben. He knew the proposal was coming and took part in it.

Exactly right. It was Lauren from day one and as I said before he wasen't going to have the woman he loved tell him that she loved him without resiprocating those feelings for her before spending the night with her. Producers agreed as long as he told the F2 the same thing to keep the suspense going to complete the show. Funny how JoJo knew on the LCD that Ben loved Lauren too but yet on ATFR we learned from Lauren that Ben never mentioned to her that he loved JoJo. humm very telling. Ben did not tell Lauren he was in love with JoJo because he really wasen't (maybe as a friend) but not the "in love" we're talking about that he had with Lauren . Lauren was it from day 1. but the show must go on. Watching Ben when they announced JoJo as the bachelorette to me I saw him happy for her yet a little like a deer in headlights because joJo will now find out the truth as she too has to get through her season even if she falls in love pretty quickly with someone very early on. The show is real in a sense that it can and has produced love stories that did end up in marriage but the producing throughout the show is arranged to fit story lines and the lead has to go along. Love when the couples make it after going through this process because i imagine it's not easy by no means.

I'll say it again, the fact that Ben and Lauren's families and friends have bought into them so fully and completely speaks volumes. If they believe them, it makes me more confident in believing them.
