Ashley and J.P - Videos - Discussion

I dont blame young couples starting out.
They get paid a lot for it being on TV, and get a gorgeous wedding paid for. The reception is not televised, so they have that to keep private.
They had their whole relationship on TV...why not?? I would do it.

Not true, they can still marry and are not obligated to have it televised, but they are obligated to MF for any media rights. He basically owns any type of publicity from the wedding, but if they want a private ceremony sans any kind of published/televised media they are free to do so.

frankly, i think they will go the televised route regardless of the two year rule, since it would be very lucrative for them.

I feel the same. The only exceptions would be if a couple is really wealthy already, which is why I'm not sure if Jem would end up doing it. Or if the intention is to only have an extremely small, private casual wedding in the first place. Otherwise, the opportunity to throw a big lavish party, with an unlimited budget, that all your friends and family can attend to share your special day, plus make some serious money on the side, would be pretty appealing in my book. And since I think that Jash is considered by producers to be a beloved and popular franchise couple, I doubt they will mess with them (rainstorm, anyone?) quite the same way they did with Jason and Molly (who despite that, still both say it was worth it, btw).

Considering how many other shows there have been in the past (and continue to be) involving televised weddings of ordinary people (anybody watch Four Weddings?), I have never understood why there is so much criticism of the idea that Bachelor couples would do it, frankly.

I see no disadvantages to a televised wedding - making decisions and having others piddle with the details - game freaken on.

I can't wait to see a JP/Ash wedding - they are a spectacular couple who continually sparkle.

I can't imagine MF would pass up the chance to air their wedding if they're ok with it. It's been a while since one has been aired. It would generate some very cute, positive press.

I wonder what the timeframe will be? Rumor has it CBS is going to air Brendon and Rachel's from BB this fall. It could be a taste vs tacky showdown.

lol, I can see Rachel as a major pouty Bridezella. It would be funny to watch that one.

I'm still waiting so patiently for Jash to announce the dang wedding date. If it's not on TV, why are they waiting to announce it, if it's within the next 6 months?
If it's on TV, that would explain that they can't announce it and ABC will do the honor. jmo I wonder if Ashley doesn't want to take time off during the first 6 months of her job, if it's not in 2012, but early 2013?

Rachel did a wedding dress show that airs here in Canada (can't remember the name of it) she basically tried on a ton of dresses with zero intention of actually buying any.

I figured Ash/JP would want to get married before her residency - but whatevs.

It was either Beverly Hills Brides or Brides of Beverly Hills. She looked gorgeous in some of the gowns. This is another couple like Ben and Courtney...quirky and not understood by everyone but they seem to work. Seems like they understand the short comings of each other and are able to work around it.

maybe they'll get married after Ashley 's done with her residency.

Emily/Jef and Ben/Courtney may beat Ashley to the altar. No biggie if Ashley and JP are confident in their relationship.
