@KatydidC So glad to have you back!KatydidC wrote:
Quiet lurker and barely hanging in there watching this season....Finding every ones' comments so much more enjoyable than the show itself. I am finding Jordan so very one-note more so than hard to read. I can't really see a spark with any of these women. His body language is distanced and his ITMs uninspired but sometimes patronizing of these women as well.
He is nice to look at and has a great voice but for me (at least for now), it ends there. Dull boy.
I haven't been able to pinpoint it but I think you are spot on about Jordan's body language - it IS very distanced. Even when he is kissing he is distanced (other than that one time with Rebecca it seems like the girls body language is more into him than he them?).
Jordan's been hard for me to read from the getgo. Even Storm this past episode said he is hard to read and she was on a 2nd single date.
TBH, I've been waiting to see Jordan's walls/guard go down but it is now past halfway through the season and I don't see that happening yet - he's still very guarded and going through the motions to me and I don't think it is personality... I am thinking it is more that he is not feeling that amazing spark like you stated?
I can also see (in this past episode) and agree somewhat that his ITMs where he is in "dad/therapist" mode and analyzing the girls (that he doesn't even like since he sends them home) as a bit patronizing like you said. They were MOT regardless so makes no sense to analyze their "walls" regarding relationships in relation to being scared of heights etc.
It will be interesting to see if anything changes especially since HTDs are coming up soon.

I try to remember where the woman stand at the RC and watch Jordan's eyes closely to observe who he looks at the most and what type of look he gives them. As you say he is hard to read but does seem to have a preference for the women who are more affectionate and purposefully seek him out. IMO The HTD's will be telling.

I say boring, almost emotionless, liveliness.

Thanks for the welcome (back). i have been stewing about this season probably because I enjoyed last season so much!
I always enjoy the hometown dates and hope that Jordan is able to show a little more interest, relax and just have some fun with at least one of these women. I wonder if he is just going through the motions as so many of the women are so young.

@KatydidC I do feel the same as you Jordan seems to favor certain girls i.e Naz at the cocktail parties and other miss out i.e. Alicia the more gentle ones Ceri and Erin seem more in the background. Yes, the spark is really not there with any one hopefully something happens that revs up the action
Yes, Jordan is an interesting character I also found him hard to connect with as a viewer, but interestingly my husband and son really like him better than Art. Art was just gorgeous on the show last year and was easy to read.
The regulars on this site are amazing the aspects that they observe i.e the music, panning of the camera, voice overs etc then they can deduct so much information last year they had Matilda picked from the get go.
I am learning.....
in my opinion

Karina -- so fun that your husband and son watch the show with you. Mine just indulges my bach viewing. Curious who they think Jordan is most interested in if anyone yet?

@KatydidC at first they would not watch it but silence reigns in our house when it is on so they started to watch. It is amazing what they pick up. They both think that jordanis the most compatible with Rebecca and of course Ceri is my fav if those those two are eliminated we not be so invested.

First off
My husband and my sons think my "obsession" is hilarious but I have noticed that one of them likes to pop into the TV room every so often to see what's going on. If I was actually choosing for myself I'd pick Jordan over Art - to me he's more typical of a traditional Kiwi bloke and more my style. Plus his eyes just get me. My daughter, however, who watches with me very week thinks he's kinda of cute but also kinda boring. Also she says his "dad jokes" are lame while I think they are funny.
Anyhoo ....
I was just listening to MORE FM (official radio station) in the car and there was an ad for tonight's episode. And it sounds like the sh1t is going to hit the fan! Ceri is wondering why she's even here if she can't get to spend any time with him and Jordan finds out about Rebecca's thesis. He says something like "what exactly is the paper about? Are you just here to just research me, to research the girls?" - he does not sound that happy. It's strange though because if that was a drama why have TV3 not put it in the preview for tonight's episode. It might all turn out to be nothing.

IA - I and most of my friends think he is most compatible with Rebecca but currently have Fleur as F1. My daughter is Ceri all the way with Storm coming in as F2.
