Anna Marshall - Bachelor New Zealand - Season 2
AllAboutLove wrote:Mods or @GuardianAngel could we get a contestant thread started whenever possible? TIA
It seems like Anna Marshall (confirmed first contestant) may still on the show based on her SM activity as she was last active Jan 10th on FB (filming should have started Jan 14/15 the latest and should be at least 10 days into the season going by S1 filming schedule and casting info from last year).
Some info on Anna:Anna the first Bachelorette to be announced on the 2016 season
TUESDAY 15 DECEMBER 2015 17:40.
More FM is pleased to announce Nelson-born Anna Marshall as their bachelorette Wildcard winner for season two of The Bachelor New Zealand.
This makes Anna the first Bachelorette to be announced for the 2016 season.
Last year saw More FM Wildcard winner Lisa O’Loughlin become a favourite with the Bachelorettes, with the tears flowing when she departed the bachelorette mansion.
Anna (29) will join the other Bachelorettes vying for the attention of the 2016 Bachelor. After watching the inaugural season, Anna is excited about the opportunity to potentially find true love.
“I've lived my selfish years and absolutely owned them!” says Anna, “Now I'm ready for the next chapters of my ‘life book’ and I feel this is the perfect place to start....Chapter 29 - will she receive a rose?”
Season two of The Bachelor New Zealand is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production New Zealand and will screen on TV3 in 2016.

I just found Anna's twitter and she tweeted this on Jan 21, so thinking she may have been eliminated then? (unless filming has started later than last year)Anna Marshall @marshy2000 Jan 21

Given that filming started Jan 22 (per Katiebelle's sleuthing) then Anna could still be on the show and since her SM activity for the pic above was Jan 21 it would be the day before filming started.
That being said... if Martin is the lead I am not sure if he will also go for someone older than him since he is the same age as Art and Matty was younger than Art. Still possible though. She seems nice.

Sorry, I don't understand what Art and Matty's age has to do with Martin's potential F1?

Re: Anna Marshall - Bachelor New Zealand - Season 2
what a scoop!
a bachelor picking a cougar!
If I well remember, NZ do not settle before 30, right? So she still has a year to have fun and be considered as "no string attached" is fun.
if she is too old (aka cougar), I wonder what I am... a toothless cougar?

Re: Anna Marshall - Bachelor New Zealand - Season 2
this is what was said in season 1.
it is a general consensus that NZ young people have fun but settle for family after 30
I read it here from locals... now i am sure it is not a rule or a law or something

HEA is correct.
IMO, as a general rule Kiwis follow a bit of a pattern.
Go to school - have gap year or go straight to higher education - get first job - have their OE (travelling and working overseas, usually England) - come back to NZ - meet someone - marry - have kids.
This all takes time so it is more likely for someone to marry in their late 20s than their early 20s.
At aged 28 I was the first out of my friends to get married and when I had my first child at 29 I was the youngest in my mother's group of 8 women - the eldest was 42 years.
Also - even though we don't really have a class system in NZ - gosh I'm not sure how to put this - those that are middle class with education tend not to have babies in their early 20s. Think this might be the same with most western countries.

Me too! These women are not a good representation of Kiwi women - in fact quite a few were not originally from NZ at all!
On purely looks I didn't think any of them dazzled. And don't get me started on all the horrible ill fitting dresses they were wearing! Plus, I hope this is not too harsh, but as I was sitting watching I kept on thinking how did TPTB manage to pick so many women with such terrible horsey crooked teeth!

I'm really not liking some of these girls. Some are too mean, desperate, over confident and emotional. It's like TPTB has cast crazy women with these extreme attributes to shock us and add unnecessary drama. Last years' girls were of a much higher caliber and actually feel sorry for Jordan. It's slim pickings indeed!
And they make Kiwi women look bad - I promise the majority of us are nothing like this!

I believe it, we saw Arts girls. I think once we get most of the mean crazies, we have some solid girls. To be honest I don't see him ending up with any of the girls. I give him and his F1 like 6 months max.
