The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Scaps - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Eh that account just looks like a parody. Her tweets are so OTT. I follow several accounts similar to that. And I agree with umngirl, it's veeeery easy to accidentally follow someone or like their tweets especially when you're scrolling through on your phone.

A parody that tweets about anal sex and doing cocaine and all other things?
I guess that's funny to some but I have to say I wouldn't expect Ben to follow an account like that, parody or not.

He follows almost 250 people. I follow less than that and miss people's tweets all the time because I simply scroll and don't read everything. He doesn't seem to have ever mentioned the account, retweeted anything from them, or liked any tweets. That's what makes me think it was an accident or an inside joke with friends/they followed it without his knowledge back when he started his account. It wasn't a recent follow I can tell that much since it's nowhere near the top of his following list.

He's the Bachelor though. I would think he would check his follows.
It's not a big deal but definitely odd to me.
I just don't want to put Ben on such a pedestal that anything he does is just excused away.

It's definitely very raunchy humor and it's not for everyone but there are people who do find it funny. I'll admit I laughed at much of it. It's not serious. It may not even really be a woman behind that account. I'm not trying to put him on a pedestal or excuse everything he does. I don't give anyone a free pass even if I like them. Initially he was my least favorite contender for the lead though I've come around and he's grown on me. I just don't think this follow, intentional or not, really says much of anything about who he is as a person.

Accidental follow or not, if it's a parody I don't see anything wrong with it. He's young and allowed to have a slightly questionable sense of humor. He's no angel.

Haha, I am a bit suprised to see Ben follow such a raunchy Twitter account. I always thought he was Sean 2.0, but Sean almost had a heart attack when he heard the word "threesome", yet I saw Ben follows a couple of these parody type accounts. I'm glad - it was starting to get annoying how perfect he was!

I don't think we will ever see the "real" Ben. He is putting on his best self for the cameras because like any sane person would do, he is thinking about his family, career, etc. Not that I think he has skeletons in the closets, but I don't think he is as wholesome as some have projected onto him. JMO

I think that everyone puts up an act and I think that some are better actors, but I feel like you see much of the person in the season, you do start to get a true sense of their real personality. I can't really think of a lead who really fooled people. That's why I'm interested to see how people will feel about him in March. I think the worst he's going to do is possibly sleep with Joelle, but I've been suprised before.

I still think Ben is a good guy and gentleman and I am still hopeful for him and his F1.

Ben is definitely not perfect nor has he professed to be. What's annoying about TPTB is that their build them up to tear them down somewhat. It's all a parody.

All this reminds me of the conversation that was taking place last Fall in the Becca sleuthing thread. IIRC, Dr. Chris (the dentist...don't know his last name) gave some sort of an interview (don't recall if it was in print or a snapchat/periscope). Chris was asked about Becca in regards to being a good fit for Ben. Chris said no, that Ben needed someone with an edge to her. My takeaway from that was that Ben likes a little bit of "inappropriate" humor...not judging, just trying to describe it. So whether this is an actual follow or accidental, it fits with what Chris said...nbd to me.

For me, the fact that Ben would pursue Kaitlyn, even for a "promised" Bachelor gig, is enough reason not to put him on a pedestal.
