The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Scaps - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I think the hardest part for the F1 watching this clip and discussion on After Live is the thought that they are getting engaged a short while later.  Watching the show air would never be fun for the F1.  This is why the true test of a lasting relationship happens after the show airing ends and the couple moves forward IRL.

The hardest part for F1 would be whether or not Ben told her he "loved" f2...and when he told her. Id hope Ben would of said something before he proposed...That's a HUGE deal. I wouldn't want to accept a proposal from someone who said they "loved" another girl..

As in any season, what the lead is shown to say on air vs the truth of the situation both during the filming and then at the present, can be very different things. One is tv and one is real life.
If there is genuine trust and love, it can be worked out. If not--well then.

Good point eversotrue.  Des handled it perfectly at her proposal with Chris.

I wouldn't accept a proposal from a man who told another woman he loved her but these Bach folks seem to tolerate a lot more than I ever would. Like Molly taking Jason back after he dumped her to get engaged to Melissa. Chris got engaged to Desiree after she told Brooks she loved him so this wouldn't be the first time it's happened and it probably won't be the last either. I don't get it and would never accept it but that's just me and I probably see it as a bigger deal than it actually is.

That's very true. But it was still said, it was still made into a "storyline", it will still be heard by millions of people come March...that has to sting, at the very least. I know rag mags aren't to be trusted, but one of them said Lauren was embarrassed...and she has every right to be. It IS embarrassing.

She did, and luckily for her, Chris loved her enough to put that aside.

Well not as embarrassing as Jason's dumping Molly, proposal to Melissa, and switchero. Such epic fail for three involved

No, it IS a big deal IMO. I wouldn't go through any of that either. But hey, if they love that person unconditionally (crazy huh, considering the circumstances?), then I guess it doesn't matter... The Molly/Melissa/Jason breakup/makeup, the Des/Brooks/Chris fiasco, the Kaitlyn/Shawn/Nick nightmare...that's all CRAZY....but they got passed it. BUT those people were up front and honest about the situations. That's why I hope Ben was honest to Lauren before he proposed...

And I think that's the reason why it's actually very rare that the relationship between F2 and the lead affects the relationship between F1 and the lead going forward. They may make it; most often they don't - but if they don't it's not because of F2.

I guess we will get an us weekly headline it was Lauren B from night one, and love at first sight bull crap to make it all OKAY
