Well I am finally here in Croatia. It feels as if I have been planning this trip for ever. So far so good. A few glitches driving around in circles, but that is about it. The food has been fabulous. We were in Zagreb for a few days. Here are a couple of the churches. The first one is the iconic St. Mark's.

We spent a couple of days hiking in the Plitvica Jezera National Park. It was amazing...except for the no toilets and having to squat over a hole.

We are now in Rovinj for a few days. Stunning.

Some scenery while on our way. I would have had more except that some of those roads were twisting and turning all the way up and down the mountains. Barely room for two cars and a sheer drop down. Seriously scary.

EXTRAORDINARY! thanks for sharing these here. I really appreciate them so much. Have been dreaming of doing a trip to see both sides of the Adriatic Sea. Some of the best coast in Europe: Italia and Croatia.

@Sprite oh wow, so beautiful! I love the stone houses in Italy which are very similar to that one.

The views are stunning! The water looks so fresh and clean! I know what you mean about the winding roads.

This is Rovinj in the Istria region of Croatia. It is very interesting as this area was part of Italy until WWII. Lots of Italian influences and many people here still speak Italian and lots of Italian food...even more than in the rest of the Dalmatian coast. This was a favourite of both Cory and myself.

These were taken during our Istrian tour.

This is during a pit stop in Motovun. One of the most famous hill towns. It was really hot and I was taking a bit of a break.

This is another small hill town called Groznjan. It was probably our favourite. Very small but has a huge artistic colony. Lots of musicians with concerts, artists, crafts. We bought a lot of stuff here because it was so unique.
