I've checked out from SM land and the show since episode 3, oops. So I'm not aware of the "hate" Caila is really getting. Was it as bad as Britt? I remember Britt was just pretty brutal on here at least.

Idk, like RS pointed out that although fans might not be happy who the lead is, but they'll STILL watch it. And really, it's all that matters. There are plenty of leads I wasn't excited about in the past, but at least watched them for the contestants or locations or drama . I wasn't a big fan of Des becoming the 'ette, but she ended up as one of my fave 'ettes ever.

Per RS webcast today:

-RS says while they will likely promote the diversity and Cinderella fairy tale angle for Caila, he still expects 15-20 of the men to be white as she's primarily dated white men.

-Doesn't think JoJo will do BIP although they'd really like to have her.

-(As an aside: Doesn't know if Ben will be doing DWTS. He says he hasn't been told or given proof Ben's overnights were not in the order shown and doesn't know if Ben has any input about the order. Doesn't think they'll wed.

I am so happy to have Caila as the next Bachelorette.  She is such a breath of fresh air.  It will be such a wonderful change to have a Beautiful, Positive, Happy, Educated, Cultured, Classy Ette.  I am tired of the negative choices from the last couple of seasons.  Hurray!!    

I'm looking forward to watching a Caila season which seems destined to be filled with interesting travel and intellectually elevated dates.  The sleuthing should be fun.

For all of you who aren't going to watch because it is Caila.....I'll see you next year when one of her castoffs is the next Bachelor.

Now this is an idea I like but it seems only men are allowed that financial bonus for being good little soldiers.  The ladies, nope.  It's a real pet peeve of mine.

Re Caila I know her hair will be spectacular, her fashion will be great and some of the guys will be hot.  Beyond that I hope she lets her real personality and intellect out because I think they went AWOL after her first one on one, when I did find her really lovely.  After that, she lost me.  So hopefully the sweet, coherent, optimistic Caila from week 1 is the one we'll get and she'll be more relaxed around guys she's really into and less awkward around the ones she has to fake it with.  Otherwise it could be a loooonng season.

I hope too she doesn't take the soc med reaction personally.  It's rough.  But I get it.  The viewers aren't dumb and are going to be disappointed or ticked even when someone who didn't capture the interest of the majority of viewers is picked over girls who really did and that seems to be what happened here.   JMO.

So happy for Caila! Hope she finds a husband out of this.

I'm very happy if it's true that Caila's the Bachelorette. It's about time they had a WOC and imo she's beautiful, smart, has a good personality, great hair, and has a sweet family.

I'm happy as well if it's true. She seems like an accomplished young woman. And I think she would be interesting to watch as the Bette. Can't wait to see what the guys are going to look like.
