You are right he did looked down on BIP like it was beneath him. I remember someone asked him on Twitter why he wasn't on it and his response was something like " hell no he is not into that kind of drama".
About his arrogance I think I read in one of the threads Jade said he was arrogant when she met him. I don't even think that is debatable it was clear on the show he thought way too highly of himself like he was better than everyone imo

Not wanting to be involved in the BIP kind of drama is not the ssme as saying it's beneath him.  And I thought the Josh that Jade was referring to with that comment was the Kaitlyn season Josh (Joshua).  I don't think Jade met Josh Murray until the more recent Morongo Casino event which was long after she made that comment.

His grandfather was declining and he probably knew that he would pass while filming would be going on.  I don't think he appeared arrogant on the show at all and he was well respected and got along with all the guys and appears to still have friendships with many of them.  Most who have met him have said he is sincere and kind.  I'm happy he is doing this new show and look forward to seeing him on TV again.  As far as him thinking he was going to be the next bachelor, there did seem to be a strong desire from Bachelor nation.  His popularity is high for a F1.  He has more followers than Chris Soules and even Ben and most if not all of the other males.  I think he is liked by a lot more people than disliked.  I for one appreciate his pearly white smile, love of family and God and that he's not perfect, but a flawed human like the rest of us who puts himself out there. All of this is JMHO.

I also think she was referring to the other Josh because she hadn't met JM yet. IMO, nothing wrong with him disliking drama. Reading the overview of FS show it seems to be more of a fun show to help understand relationship and dating issues that prevent him from finding "the right one". I agree, the cast itself are drama based personalities but 1. Josh may not have known who the other cast ayes were until he got there as they do with a lot of these shows and 2. If he did know, I say good for him for not judging other people and doing it. I like that he gets along with everyone. He mentioned that he made some friends for life just as he did after TB

Anyone can buy followers so whomever has the most followers means absolutely nothing as it's not exactly uncommon for Bach folks to do that. Ben H was the F3 and that spot usually means the next lead. It was his gig to lose period. And honestly I do think it's arrogant to think you're so popular that you have a shot at the next lead a year later over the fan favorites who were just seen on TV. I doubt he was ever in the running after CH said his ex picked the wrong guy.

IMO he didn't do BIP because he really did think that he had a shot at being the next Bachelor and so obviously BIP was sooooooo beneath him.

Josh certainly wouldn't be the first of this bunch to buy followers if he did indeed do so. As for him being arrogant because he thought he could get the lead over Ben, I don't think I would go that far. The producers are really good at manipulating people to get the results they want and I believe they more than encouraged this line of thinking. For Josh I think it was more a case of wishful thinking and a desire to pull one over his ex. Silly and delusional...yes. Arrogant...??? In the immortal words of Kasha...box of rocks...not exactly known for critical thinking.

No doubt he loved his grandfather and no doubt his grandfather was declining but nobody knows when someone will pass away. Some people remain bed ridden for years and it's not possible for Josh to have known. I agree with the other people here, he did think he was too good for BIP and said it was too much drama. I don't think there was a strong desire from bachelor nation for Josh to be the bachelor. Josh probably didn't get more than 5000 tweets and instagram comments and over 5 million people watch the show. That's really not alot of support when you look at the number of viewers the show has. Shawn Booth has about 300 K more instagram followers than Josh so Josh really isn't the most popular F1. Ben actually also has more instagram followers than Josh and his season hasn't started airing yet so that number will only go up for Ben. The producers don't care about people's feelings, they care about ratings and if Josh did have the most fan support, they would have made him the bachelor. He didn't and that's why they chose Ben over him.
I will never believe that Josh didn't do BIP because of his grandfather. Even if he says it himself, I won't believe it. At the time, he seemed to look down on the show and talked about it being too much drama and if he says anything about his grandfather now, it MIGHT mean he's considering doing it next year so he has to talk about how much he needed to be with his grandfather. He can't say he was too good for the show if he wants to do it next year. He can make up whatever excuse now, I believe what he seemed to imply at the time which was that he was above a show like that.
As for Jade, now that someone said it, I remember that too. I think someone asked her about Josh on one of her periscopes and she said that she thought he was arrogant.

I watched that periscope (it was the second one she ever did) and she was definitely referring to Josh Murray, not Joshua. She was really hesitant to say anything bad about anyone, but someone asked and she said that he was a bit drunk when she met him and he came off as arrogant to her. I forget where she said they met, though, but she did say that she met him only briefly and that she could be wrong about her first impression. Hope that helps!

Yes, I remember the periscope too. She was definitely referring to Josh Murray.

In all fairness, it's known from past behavior that Josh and his grandfather were close. I believe his grandfather was, if not on hospice, close to the criteria that indicates such and there were signs that indicated a rapid deterioration of compatibility with life.
Regardless things are as they are.

I'm sure his grandfather's health was declining and there is no doubt that they had a close relationship but if that was the reason he didn't want to do BIP why didn't he just say that? He never seems to have a problem talking about how important his family is to him. Regarding him being arrogant, I think we saw the best of Josh when he was on the Bachelorette. In my opinion the arrogance came out after the show, and more so after the break up of his relationship.

From his heartfelt emotional posts, his grandfather was in rapid declining health and Josh commenting how he was spending as much time with him as possible. His grandfather did pass away during the filming of BIP. Whether that was the reason or he thought there would be too much drama, or there was no one he was attracted to I think that's fine. It wasn't for him. Perhaps he felt he did the Bachelor franchise thing and was looking for other opportunities. I don't think he is a bad guy or arrogant for passing. Perhaps he just simply doesn't like the premise of the show, hooking up with woman then being more attracted to someone new who comes and hooking up with them. I seriously doubt he bought followers. He had a large fan following before he went on TB. Maybe he was hoping to be TB. Why not? Most guys would love that opportunity.
