No one is saying any of these guys are bad people.
But if one has to "clean up" one's SM then, IMHO, things are already off-kilter.
And for the record, I've been following Michael on his IG since July and he was "cleaning up" his image back then.
For me personally, the finish line was crossed awhile back so that is why I view it this way... because no guy who is not F1 should be wanting to make it seem like he is the way he is.
Again, doesn't make him a bad guy. No one is going to feather and tar him.
Thanks AAL. I know you 100% believe that Michael is not F1 but why go to all this trouble to clean up his IG? BTW I have my tissues ready #TeamRichie
and I will add this.... if he was SO concerned about his image, being a calculated man he sure is, why not deleting the pics BEFORE the show but did right after the finale IN JULY? It could be for his lady but also TEN preparing a good rep for the F1

He did delete them before the show and it is the show that is on TV that is what people start cleaning up their SM for when they realize they will be on TV. It's not the finale of filming. No one knew the finale date or that Michael was F2 in July or even in August or September. The finale date and Michael's likely F2 status was sleuthed long afterwards in September.HEA wrote:iamreal2u wrote:AllAboutLove wrote:IA with @iamreal2u

I happened to follow him when no one was following anyone and I was the only one in the threads posting months before the show aired on TV. And he started deleting pics because of what the comments were on his IG. They were all negative and this was before he was even known to be on the show as no promo videos had been out yet at all. So it was only after he was getting negative comments that he deleted 100s of pics.
Again, it doesn't make him a bad person... it just indicates, as a non-F1, that he was image cleaning before the show aired and still is doing so.
Aussie media at the end of the day can be really brutal. Michael is posting photos of himself that paparazzi take of him and going to places where he can get shots of himself from paparazzi. The media and people were brutal to Sam and she never even posted paparazzi photos of herself but was still called fame-w***e and the media blasted her. So image cleaning is important in Australia because the tall poppy syndrome will always want to bring people down.
In Michael's case, unfortunately he is not helping himself IMO by posting the paparazzi photos of himself on his IG. It just shows that he follows the media and is image conscious. And his IG is tame compared to his Facebook account. It is overflowing with posts about himself. This is not a good PR move because based on what I have seen with Aussie media and viewers, they quickly turn on people who promote themselves too much. Call it Tall Poppy Syndrome or what have you, but if Michael wants to have a clean image, IMO, less is more and him posting less will benefit him more in the long run.

He did not go to places for the paps
as mentioned before, he could hardly stayed hidden at home for 4 months
tifany is to buy a gift for the 41th marriage mum and dad anniversary december 2
the only pics we see are diner with dad, airport with sis and gym
he visibly love his family with reasons IMO and is proud to share moments with his fans (because yes, he has lot of fans indeed even if some comment are not coming from fans but #teamrichie and #teamsasha .... which happens sadly each season)
oh yes... one pic with sam the bachelor at a charity kind event
he knows paps are crazies and he cannot control them if he goes buying nappies
again, it is not as if he is paying all those sharks to make up crazy stories
the hi-5 was out of proportion based on an "inside information" and it turned he never met her
the olympic was out of proportion and if people are truly after the truth, they only have to google and they will find tons of pics and he said many times his training involvement ... again rats after a bone
anyway... he is not a saint but i do not think to say that everything is calculated is a bit excessive IMO. In his shoes, I would also try to have a good public image and I would avoid being seen going out of a club at all cost if I was F1... but like michael, sasha has a life after the show.

He is posting photos of himself from the paps.
So that means he is looking for articles and photos of himself the paps have taken of him and screenshotting those paparazzi photos and uploading them to his SM.
Again, it doesn't mean he is a bad guy. But living in Australia where Tall Poppy Syndrome abounds and if he wants to be seen as someone that is not self-absorbed, I think would be better for him not to take the time to find photos of himself the paparazzi have taken and then post them for himself.

from my perspective, he is playing the paps because he has over 15 years of experience. and if he use them, good for him.... they so (ab)use him in return and get $$ from it, good for him.

I see absolutely wrong with what he is doing like I said. When paps have a favourites pictures everyday it is the paps stalking, when it is someone else..it is seeking for attention.
Yes he can post pictures if he likes them or even if he doesnt, that does not a fame seeker make.
Everyone who goes on a tv show is a fame seeker of some sort,
The Daves and Sasha have been parading and getting up to all sorts of "fun" for days on end now and they definitely know the paps are taking pictures!.
I have since realised we all see things how we want to and depending on those we like or not.
Michael has some fans too who are very glad he is posting pictures of paps and active on SM.
One man's meat and all....
just my two cents.

I don't think it is a biased case of favoritism, if it was there would be proof of this.
Doesn't make them better people, but to say that it is favoritism is silly IMO when there are no facts to support this.
It's one thing for paparazzi to stalk someone, it's another for that person to repeatedly find articles on themselves, screenshot the pics and then post them on their IG.
IMO, no matter who does this, faves or not, it is self-absorbed behavior.
Red carpet events, at events, etc makes sense to me.
But actually reading up on oneself and then copying and pasting those photos? A bit desperate, imo.

Definitely not meant anything personal.
I personally find the whole thing silly (regarding myself) since I don't know any of these people and always state this and that my opinions are only a reflection of what is edited/SM/etc.
There's no correlation between favoritism on my part (if that is what is implied) regarding my personal views on what contestants do with their SM - I would see them the same regardless.
I find what Michael is doing silly because, knowing how the media works in Australia, imo, it will only backlash against him to be taking the time to screenshot paparazzi photos of himself and post them of his IG.

Again @AllAboutLove did use "IMO" so she is also stating her opinion. Take others opinion with a grain of salt, if you want your opinions to have the same effect. Again, i agree with @AllAboutLove, uploading pics of oneself from paps seem desperate to me. It does give off that vibe that he constantly checks what the media is writing about him. It is one thing to look at it (i mean we all do, just how we are) but then to physically upload the pics to acknowledge it is weird. AGAIN MY OPINION

To clarify: I do not think Michael is a bad person.
I do like that I get to post what I think about contestants and again, it is just an opinion not a character assassination.
My opinion is that anyone, regardless of who they are, who chooses to take the time and expend the energy to read articles on the Daily Mail about themselves and then screenshot those photos and upload them onto their SM accounts, is, IMO, self-absorbed.
Again, this doesn't make him a bad person. I would say this about anyone. It's bizarre to do, IMO and entirely silly, IMO, for a contestant who has a negative image in the media to post paparazzi photos of themselves to clean their image. IMO, it would make more sense to post home photos (which are nice and definitely help with the cleaner image) than paparazzi ones.
