The Bachelorette Australia - Sam Frost - Season 1 - Episode Discussions - #2 - *Spoilers - Sleuthing*

Let`s be honest. I don`t think the HTD would have changed anything in Sam`s decision. She felt for Sasha since day one and that was it.

hey! a newbie here and idk if i'm even posting my musings in the right thread, but bear with me ;)  (and tell me if i should shoo out of here to somewhere else!)

been following the forum for some time now and finally felt like putting my 2 cents in.

i kinda feel like Michael is just too calculated, there are no emotions there, and his attitude comes off as a bit patronizing at points to me idk why, just the vibe. feel like maybe now he enjoys Sam's dorky side, but sometime soon he'd go all 'okay now lets get serious here' on her, it'd start annoying him. that's how i read him at least.

as for Sasha he's just too good to be true in the sense that he says all the right things, seemingly does everything right but there's sth not right there for me. i feel like he really WANTS to be the kind of person Sam is looking for and he's trying, and there's nothing bad in it, but it's not real. i see Sam's thing for Sasha as a girl having this big crush on an older guy who impresses her in some way, maybe bc he gives off those big protective 'my packed arms will take care of you' vibes that she seems to be desperately looking for after the whole fiasco with Blake, and she's giving too much importance to that while maybe dismissing importance of other aspects she seeks for in a guy. we want it or not, crushes and first sight infatuations run their course at some point, and then it's really important to be left with a best friend in a partner by your side. i don't feel it with neither Michael nor Sasha.

eventhough all you amazing sleuths here have already figured out that unfortunately Richie is not the one Sam picks, my money is STILL on him being the RIGHT guy for her, it just feels true and natural with him. but hey, Sam's choice, she does what she feels is right ;) also we need to remember that despite Sam being so genuine and open, we definitely don't see her full personality, it's only natural to hide a bit in situation like that imo, so that's why her choices may not make sense to us, but do to her.

also, my fave from the beginning was actually Dave, but i quickly realized that he's not well suited for Sam, i was judging by what I like, not Sam hehe

I agree with @natik... pleasantly suprised,,, I think not!
It was so hard to see richie so invested and to know he's going next week

Exactly. She picked the guy night one.

The only thing that "changed" was what order the other guys would leave.

I think with Richie it is a popular thought that many people see Richie with Sam, including her friends and people that know her. So I don't think it is a stretch or even just personal preference that many think he is the best match for her and saw him as the winner b/c there is something very natural about them.

But Sam has always had her type and that physical attraction to her type was there night one and never went away. And in an environment where there is only one girl I can totally see how her physical type would be able to reassure her and give her what she wants -- which is a guy who will make it all about her but STILL be her physical type and Sasha only fit that bill out of all the guys, imo.

I like your post and agree with you. Sasha is giving me the vibe that he is in it to win it. And it`s not about Richie or Sam`s choice. I just can`t help myself by getting that feeling every time he is on my radar. Maybe he is genuine about his feelings but it feels not natural to me. IMO

I too read for ages before posting and I too am not good on keeping to the threads.
Clearly there are many things at play regarding Sam's choice.
For me I see:
1. Sasha's physicality - I had a patch in my 20's where I was only interested in muscular men with hairy chests;
2. Sasha is the leader of the Sydney group of men because of his age and size and other male stuff I don't understand;
3. Richie is a country boy, he grew up in the outback & is not one for a city based life alone;
4. Richie is younger and dorkier so despite being smart as, smarter than, would not fit in with Sam's minor celeb. lifestyle in the way a city fella may;

I am quite sad to see Alex and Richie as 'losers' but of course they are not.
Just as you know yourself that not getting the ultimate affirmation from someone you are in love with, does't really diminish what you are - it actually affirms it in another way.

They just didn't get Sam but we all know there are many great gals out there, better suited to them.

I agree that the only surprise is if she picked Richie in the end as both Sasha and Michael seem the typical pick to me.

Michael rubs me the wrong way with how cold he comes off and Sasha just doesn't appeal to me.
