Bachelor 19 - Chris Soules - Discussion - #3

I never had a problem with Chris...he is just a bad actor. When he is being himself, he is much more likeable. I always found him funny with Kimmel.

I was supportive of Chris through out his season and happy that he ended up with Whitney. However, I didn't like the way he treated Whitney during DWTS.  He can be a likeable person but just not that comfortable on camera.  He is someone from the show, like many others, I wish would fade away.

The thing I didn't like about his latest performance on JKL was when JK asked if he could remember Amber from his season and he answered “vaguely”. It’s Jimmy’s job to make that joke, but Chris should be more gracious I think.

I guess he doesn’t have it in him.

I didn't like puppet Chris and I think he has a tendency to drink to much.

I also didn't like him using Whitney. I don't think Whitney understood it was a "fake" engagement. I understand that he needed a woman to say yes, but he and TPTB picked the one who really believed in his and the lie. I would have liked Chris more if he chose Becca and bucked the engagement or went with Britt or even Ashley I. Someone who would have been happy to play "fake" engaged. He used the one woman on his show who wasn't a complete fameho. I still dislike him for that. JMO.

I get what you are saying but I find it hard to just blame him as if Whitney had nothing to do with it. She is a lovely woman but she is a fan of the show and a friend of Jackie's. She had to know how the show works and she went all in on Chris from the get go. She practically threw herself into that bachelor bubble. Nothing wrong with that and she was classy throughout, but she has some responsibility with how things went down. Either way, I do think he does like his alcohol and can be easily manipulated...which is probably one of the reasons he was chosen by producers.

Chris doesn't bother me anymore. My only problem with him was the charade at his finale and during DWTS but IMO Whitney is equally culpable in that. They knew it was over before his ATFR. Oh well, what's done is done.

Chris seems to have a pretty well balanced life now. Farm life with some taking advantage of opportunities. (Same goes for Whitney). Good on him (them). I thought he was pretty funny in the McDonalds commercial as Ben's guardian angel/conscience/evil twin/whatever he was.

Jimmy Kimmel asked Chris if he would like to date any of the women on Ben's season like the pony girl or chicken enthusiast and he replied not them but Amanda. His picker is off as Jillian would say since Amanda is the one with 2 little girls and I sincerely doubt of all the girls this season she would up and move them to the farm in Iowa to be with Chris.

He said he hasn't seen the episode yet and was just basing it off of looks. Which makes sense since a lot of people were confusing Becca/Amanda In the sleuthing thread so I think that's his type. 

I actually could see Chris with a single mother, since he seems to really love his nieces, but yeah, no way is Amanda moving to Arlington.

I agree Whitney was totally in the bubble, but Chris was not. He took her honest emotions and used them for his own gain. But, I am the odd one here. I prefer JPG who refused to play the game. Had Chris shown any integrity maybe I would feel differently, but I didn't see him doing anything but what was best for Chris. Again JMO.

THAT ^^^   The Chris I saw on DWTS and post season was a diva and all about Chris.  Bubble or no bubble 100% Whitney's feelings were not of concern to Chris.  His disrespectful self involved behavior was a total turn off for me.  Respect is key in any relationship. Period.

Things were off at the after the final rose. Chris H. even asked them about fighting? He probably knew it was over then. All JMO but Chris used Whitney and everyone knows it.

I don't know that he intentionally used her. I think he thought they could really make it work based on how into him she said she was and how into Arlington she said she was. I think he thought it would be enough and that he'd grow to love her bc she loved him so much. I mean there's no doubt that he felt more for others but when it was only between W and B he chose the sure thing but I don't believe it was malicious. I think he was trying to fool himself that he and Whit would work and it didn't take long for him to figure out that she wasn't a good match for him but by then he was already stuck and were they both putting up a front at ATFR or just him? I can't remember. Either way, he should've picked Becca and tried the long distance dating imo.
