IMO there was a reason that Kaitlyn stopped following Nick the weekend before snapchat leaked; I don't buy that it was "just because Shawn made her" or that "Shawn wanted her to" - IMO she did it because she wanted to do it. Why I don't know but it might be interesting to look at a time line with all sorts of known events in it - like when she stopped following Nick, when Whitney and Nick met and possibly talked, etc. Perhaps there's a connection that could be seen.

IMO in the grand scheme of things, every lead on this show has had an F2 that they broke up with to choose their F1, and the lead and the F2 have one more contact at the ATFR - because they have to - and then move on. Jason is the exception but I consider his situation to be a special case - not the norm.

Yes Lucas, the timing is interesting.  Whitney and Nick met and talked in the Chicago bar on Saturday, May 30th (I think).  Then Kaitlyn unfollowed Nick the following week like around the 5th or 6th of June ( the weekend before his show appearance).  And the snapchat video was released around noon on Friday, June 12th.  Leaving Kaitlyn to travel to Chicago and stay with Whitney Saturday, June 13th through Monday, June 15th.  Possibly meeting with Nick sometime during that stay...maybe Monday at the park/pier.  

Here is a crazy idea for you:

Maybe Nick left the FRC not knowing if Kaitlyn and Shawn were together.  (The producers would keep Nick in the dark for the maximum effect at the ATFR.) Then when RS and the media bought the spoiler that Kaitlyn chose no one, Nick had some hope.  Possibly Kaitlyn asked Whitney to talk with Nick in person to let him know what was going on and to make sure he was "ok".  Maybe Nick did not take the hint and kept pursuing Kaitlyn with his supportive SM posts (he posted 2-3 things about Kaitlyn that week) so Kaitlyn unfollowed him the following week.  Then to make it absolutely clear, she accidentally leaked the snapchat on the 12th.  Maybe Kaitlyn asked to be sent to Chicago to have a talk with Nick to set him straight about her and Shawn.  I can't imagine that talk going very well, leading to her less than glowing blogs and interviews since that time.

I get your point. It's been a lot of years since I was in college - but I still remember.

Interesting thoughts - similar to ones which I've had as well so if you're crazy - then so am I. I think it was intended for Nick to believe Kaitlyn was single and she played along with it until she stopped. Perhaps one thing Kaitlyn might have learned was that the producers were planning a big brou ha ha for the ATFR where Nick would have learned only an hour beforehand that Kaitlyn was engaged to Shawn and perhaps also, Nick was contacting her through SM and basically running plays from the same playbook he used on Andi's season and she saw the pattern and history repeating itself. Her initial reaction was to unfollow Nick - hoping he would get the message.

I too speculated at the time that IMO snapchat might have actually been intentional but made to be virtually indistinguishable from an accident - in reality an attempt to get the message out to Nick that she was with Shawn - something she's also made quite obvious in her recent interviews and snapchats and blogs. All intended to send one message to Nick - back off.

I don't know if the message is to Nick or to the whole world, but "back off, Shawn and I are together and happy," is practically written on this woman's forehead at this point. I wonder if Shawn is furiously texting her, "cool your jets!!! I'm homeless/unemployed/unemployable, I cannot help with a lawsuit payment!!"

IMO people believe they know things that we don't know and that is influencing their opinions.

I think it is more simple than even that... people like to stick with what is popular opinion and like to be in with the winners circle. Going against the tide is bad for business, one's brand, and one will lose followers/etc if one does.

No surprise to me that Jillian would support K&S. No surprise to me that the guys will be falling over themselves at MTA (which will udoubtedly be a MTN) saying what an amazing Bette Kaitlyn was. They don't want to be accused of being sexist and not with the times. The image of Ian on his knees paying penance at MTA says it all already.

What is more surprising is those who choose to stick with Nick: Sharleen and Ali for example. Very unpopular to do so but they do it anyway... even when they are friends with Andi, Kaitlyn. That is more telling to me than Jillian (who quickly changed her tune the minute snapchat was spoiled and who now gets more attention/followers/relevancy in the Bette world once more because she is with Kaitlyn).   jmo

Jillian hasn't done the popular thing in the past though. She said that Sean had to be a player and was lying about not having sex, reached out to Courtney while she was getting vilified on her season, and supported and defended JP throughout his season. She even defended Nick acknowledging that most people don't like him, but she's never had a problem with him.

IA about the past but that was just Jillian's opinion and not her being friends with those people personally so she had no loyalty to anyone anyway, so it wouldn't impact her at all imo.

However, Jillian is friends with Kaitlyn, going to events and hanging out together on their own time this season.

Based on her first blog post and now there was a definite change in her posts pre/post snapchatgate towards Nick and she became more negative towards Nick when strangely enough, most viewers and bloggers were becoming more negative towards Shawn (or at least not as big of a fan and these people undoubtedly all know the ending too so that is more telling, imo).

Sorry for double post: The only thing Nick could say at ATFR outside of "Why let me propose" is if Kaitlyn also told Nick he was "the one" and "it" for her. If she did and Nick spills the beans on that, then good luck with that for all concerned because that will blow up the whole Shawn-acted-this-way-because-he-was-told-he-was-the-one. Funnily enough, Nick would be tarred and feathered if this did happen and he brings it up but Shawn still gets the exclusive F1-pass.

Does anyone know for sure if this is a live audience? I'm wondering with the GMA thing, which didn't appear to be much and as umgirl mentioned might be fluff for the finale, and lipsis mentioned Ali said something about trivia and finale discussions.

Can anyone remember when they started to advertise the AFTR last season? Didn't Agentcurls say she was trying to get in touch with her go to person for AFTR tix. It may be if they plan on having a head-to-head that they will make it a closed AFTR. If so, then I think it will be pre-recorded so that they can edit it however they want. Having a closed session live may be just a little bit TOO REAL!
