Deanna had a TON of backlash because Jason was the single parent who left his boy home for a long time. He was visibly upset at the AFTR. It seems as though Ben has moved on (yay for him for giving the finger to TPTB) so I think Ash/JP will come out of this ok. JP is certainly way better than Jesse.

Well, this also totally explains Ben's less than enthused attitude on the vlogs that he made. Sounds like (at least at that point, which was before he got to clear the air a little with Ash) he was still quite pissed at her. Hard to sound excited talking about his dates with her under those circumstances.

I'm about to make an incredibly cynical comment... I wondered last night if there was some sort of bonus structure for the lead. It really felt like Ashley was trying to get BOTH Ben and JP to tell her that that they loved her. Is it possible that she would get more if they both proposed?

I KNOW that TPTB push the leads strongly to lead people on and I don't know if it would make me feel any better if there was actually a monetary piece of persuasion. I just didn't think that Ash would freeze to the point that she would actively (actually passively, I guess) hurt another person. It makes me sad, but then it always does.

I don't think Ashley is going to get as much backlash as DeAnna, JP was a favorite, and most feel that JP and Ash are good together, I think once the shock is over, people will understand and move on. I am sure Ben has.
