Nick Viall - Bachelorette 11 - *Spoilers - Sleuthing* - Discussion #4

I really didn't care for Nick before, but I am OK with the new one, it looks like he learned his lesson. And, after being dumped twice, I think he deserve to be the lead next season. I think he will do very good and even find the one. Ben H is my 1st choice, Nick 2nd, and Josh 3rd.

^ Being dumped twice and still maintaining some positivity is something Nick can be proud of. I think he will remain positive like he has and keep moving forward. It seems like quite a few viewers that didn't care for Nick last year are feeling better about Nick 2.0 and his edit has definitely softened so who knows what may happen in the future. IA, he deserves to have something better happen - whether as lead or not.

The funny thing is, he hasn't changed.

Uh, there is not a "new" Nick"; the edit is just a little bit fairer than before.

Yup, he is the same Nick. It just shows how media/edit can skew opinion and how easy it is to fall for TPTB tricks. But if one followed Nick one would see he went back to his normal life, no red carpets, no perks, nothing. Just Nick being Nick. But glad to see that many are seeing the real Nick, who he has always been, even if he is thought of as Nick 2.0.

What I mean by new is the Nick who doesn't act like he is the only one good enough for the girl, " they all want to be like me, they are not good enough", " she will chose me, we going to go to Josh brothers game with our dog name "Murray", that Nick, he was cocky and very selfish. So, I would think that after being dumped twice on TV and be told that "I never loved you" must have being a blow to his ego.
I see a change person, but may be I spoke to soon, we 'll see how he behaves after sleeping with the girl...

Same here! I don't see Nick 1 vs Nick 2 just same ole Nick to me

^^ He has definitely grown from last season. I am sure he did come into this season like he said, not wanting to make waves and he is doing a good job so far handling the situation. Has been humble, looks down at RCs, etc. And yes, being dumped before made him more aware that it could happen again and even though he was sincere it seems like it did. So far he is treating Kaitlyn very well and not saying anything negative to or about anyone.

I agree that he is not as confident this time around and he is more aware of how his comments, whether they are just movie quotes or an attempt at funny/sarcastic, rubbed the guys the wrong way.  I did not see him as selfish, just producer prodded to do certain things.  Unreal has been an eye opener on how they can manipulate contestants.  However, he did come off as cocky on the series, Mag, so I see where you are coming from in your post.  Glad you like. Nick--along with the other guys.  Makes watching more enjoyable.

Did Nick have tons of offers for red carpet events, hosting events, etc last year? After the few interviews that he had I assumed people didn't want to see him on their TV's again so that is why he went back to his normal life….or where there opportunities that he turned down. If that is not the case then I stand corrected.

He did a speech at a college after the show also something with Sean. I do not know but would assume that he did get many offers for interviews etc.., I just think he just went back to his normal life because he is not looking for fame as some accuse him of. He has always stated that he loves his job, life in Chi. , and his family seems to come first in his life. Nick really does not care what the public thinks of him so I would assume that he just wanted out of the bubble. JMO

We have no proof either way: that he was or wasn't offered anything (CMIIAW). What we do know is that Elan likes him. That he was allowed back on the show for a consecutive season and taken to F2 2x in a row -- that's a lot of screentime. I am sure all the past contestants get offered perks or to be on BIP or other shows but some turn it down. Based on Nick's actions, it is unlikely he would have pursued anything else or even being the notorious villain or return contestant like CW on red carpets, etc.

What he did get was unprecedented access to his social media while filming. So, that's a perk that no other contestant has ever gotten, ever. I would think if Nick wanted to, he could have milked his status in Bach Nation and red carpeted his way there. jmo
