‘Bachelorette’ Ashley Hebert: The Broken Heart Behind Her Hair Makeover!

Brad left Ashley in tears, so she decided to change her look! Do you think she looks better as a brunette or as a blonde?

Brad Womack left Ashley Hebert with a broken heart when he sent her home on The Bachelor. But now that she’s getting her own chance at finding love as the star of ABC’s The Bachelorette, Ashley has gone through a massive makeover.

And Bachelor/Bachelorette host Chris Harrison tells Access Hollywood that the reason Ashley made the drastic change from blonde to brunette was because Brad dumped her!

“She was heartbroken after Brad,” Chris says. “When you go through something traumatic, I just think you want a fresh start.”

Chris defends that ABC had nothing to do with Ashley’s decision to go brunette. “We didn’t do it. That was her — she went brunette.”

“I won’t pretend to tell you what women think or what they do,” says Chris. “Because as soon as you think you have them figured out, you don’t.”

But Chris knows enough to admit: “You see this with a lot of women — they change their hair. Jennifer Aniston — whoever.”

“So she went back to her natural hair color,” says Chris. “It’s the new Ashley. I think she looks great with the new color.”

In case you were too busy watching the End Times unfold in Japan last Monday, back in sunny L.A., music soared and angels cried as second-time-around Bachelor Brad Womack finally selected a fiancée from a cumulative pool of 60 desperate women. As ABC production assistants stood just off camera with guns, Brad and his fiancée confirmed they would marry, and the network announced next season’s Bachelorette: second runner-up Ashley Hebert.

Though 26-year-old Ashley is probably best known to fans for her sperm-like eyebrows and for sexing Brad up in the Fantasy Suite, she’s also a fourth-year dental student at U. Penn. and, accordingly, the most respectable Bachelorette yet. So… does this mean ABC will nix the usual crew of medical sales/mall kiosk workers/”entrepreneurs,” up the ante, and give Ashley some real professional dudes to vie for her heart?

Seems like it….


Meet Ben Castoriano, the first confirmed Bachelorette contestant for Ashley’s season and — HOLLA — a lawyer. Ben’s a fourth-year litigation associate at Frilot, a New Orleans-based firm. Obviously I’ve never heard of it, but the site seems reasonably legit, as does Ben’s résumé, which includes a JD from Tulane (2007), a “BSBA” from University of Richmond (2004), and native fluency in French. When he’s not pounding cold brewskis or dancing in tuxes at weddings, he’s keeps busy not returning phone calls as a card-carrying member of the broletariat. Awesome.

Also awesome? Frilot LLC. Here’s the word on the street:

■Castoriano requested and obtained a six-week leave from Frilot to participate in the show.
■A crew from the show was in the Frilot offices, after hours, to film “day in the life” footage.
■Castoriano has already left and has to stay in the house until the final rose, even if he’s eliminated.
■Frilot told Castoriano that its name should appear nowhere in the show.
■There is a movement afoot at Frilot to rent out the Prytania for the show’s first episode.
Sure, Frilot is cool with it now, but they may change their minds once they see him tonguing down Ashley in a helicopter on a televised picnic. Recall the case of David Otunga, the Harvard Law grad and former Sidley Austin associate who got canned for appearing on I Love New York 2. And you know what happened to David, don’t you? He lived happily ever after.

At this very moment, the new Bachelorette, Ashley Hebert, is going to cocktail parties, "making connections," and handing out roses on her season of the show, which just began shooting. While she's living it up with 25 eligible guys, the real "love of her life," her new teacup Yorkie Boo, is pining for her back home in Maine.

"She's at her grandmother's house right now," Hebert tells PEOPLE. But not by choice.

The pooch, pictured above in Hebert's suitcase, tried really hard to tagalong on her Mom's trip to shoot the ABC show. At least the dog has something to look forward to: when Herbert brings guys home for the "hometown dates" later in the season, we know they'll give Boo lots of attention. That is, if they know how to win a girl's heart!

‘Bachelorette’ Ashley Hebert’s Hot Dance Date! Plus Romantic Dinners and Concerts!

Vegas, California and onto Thailand — here’s the scoop on ‘Bachelorette’ Ashley’s first four dates!

Ashley Hebert is already nine days into filming the new season of ABC’s The Bachelorette! On March 15, Ashley was introduced to 25 men at the Bachelor/Bachelorette mansion in Los Angeles, according to RealitySteve.com. Two days later, the crew packed up and traveled to Las Vegas to begin the one-on-ones and group dates! Here’s what went down:

March 17 One-on-One:
Ashley went on her first dateat the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas. First, she and her man went to the Bellagio Conservatory, then to the Jean Philippe Patisserie for lunch.

That evening, the couple shared a romantic dinner in front of the hotel’s spectacular outdoor fountain. Ashley must have given him a rose as the two were seen locked in a passionate kiss.

March 18 Group Date:
Ashley and 10 guys spent the day at at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas Resort and Casino, where they were seen walking through the casino at night. They all then proceeded to see one of the two shows — comedian Frank Caliendo or the hip-hop crew Jabbawockeez.
March 19 One-on-One with Mickey McLean:

Ashley and Mickey, a chef who was named Cosmo’s 2010 Bachelor of the Year, went to Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino’s wave pool. They then danced the night away at a private Colbie Caillat concert. She serenaded them with her song “I Do!” JEALOUS! Love Colbie!

March 21 One-on-One with Ben Castoriano:Ashley and the whole production team were back in California at this point. She took Ben to have a private picnic at Brand outdoor mall in Glendale. After they finished eating, Ashley started teaching Ben, a New
Orleans lawyer, some moves. All of a sudden, people started dancing around them – most likely hired by the show because they were
choreographed. The group Far East Movement also performed their hit “Like a G6″ for them.

Ashley knew about the days events beforehand but Ben had no clue. “Honestly when I found out this is what we were doing, I had goosebumps.
I love to , so it’s perfect,” Ashley told Access Hollywood. “He had no idea what we were about to do. Crazy! Crazy!”Watch Ashley’s video interview from that date below!

Ashley, 26, who currently resides in Philadelphia, where she is finishing her degree in dentistry, went from being one of the favorites to capture Brad’s heart, to narrowly missing her goal of finding a future husband. Ashley and Brad clicked on their enchanting first date at a private carnival, discovering an electric connection and sharing a magical first kiss. After showing Brad her charming hometown and his meeting her family, the rollercoaster ride took them to South Africa, where, in a stunning turnaround, their relationship fell apart. It seemed the couple wanted different things out of life. Ashley was frustrated she couldn’t communicate her feelings to Brad, and he gallantly decided to let her go before the rose ceremony, knowing he would not offer her a rose. Ashley was surprised and heartbroken that her perfect fairytale came to an abrupt end. It would take her time to find the silver lining to this bad situation and move forward.

That time has come and now Hebert, stronger and more confident than ever, is prepared to find a balance between her career and personal life and find the love of her life. A native of Madawaska, Maine, Ashley is the youngest of three siblings. An academic scholar, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine with a BS in biology. A love of dance fueled many of Ashley’s successes. She was Maine’s 2002 Junior Miss and went on to compete in America’s Junior Miss, where she received a scholarship for the fitness portion of the competition. She was the captain of the dance team in college and also worked in an after-school program teaching dance. Since the fall of 2007, Ashley has attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and will graduate in May with a 3.96 GPA and the degree of DMD, Doctor of Dental Medicine. She still teaches dance: ballet, jazz and hip hop.

Meet ‘Bachelorette’ Ashley Hebert’s First 12 Confirmed Contestants!
From an attorney to a hairstylist to a dentist — Ash has a bunch of guys to choose from. And this is only half of the group!

Ashley Hebert felt very unlucky in the love department when Brad Womack sent her packing on The Bachelor. But now that she’s getting her own chance at love as ABC’s new Bachelorette, Ashley can’t complain about not meeting some decent men! On March 15, filming for the season started at the Bachelor/Bachelorette mansion in Los Angeles and Ashley met 25 eligible men.

Here’s what we know about half of Ashley’s men, according to RealitySteve.com:

* Stephen D’Amico: Lives and works in Manhattan Beach, Calif. He’s a stylist at Hush Hush Hair Salon.
* Ryan “Mickey” McLean: He is a 30-year-old chef in Ohio — was named Cosmo’s Hottest Bachelor in 2010.
* Rob Dahm: He is 28 and lives in Monroe, Mich. He owns a computer company with his brother.
* Nick Peterson: from Tampa, Fla. Nick played minor-league baseball for the Yankees organization. Now he works as a personal trainer at Peety’s Personal Training. He graduated from the University of Tampa.
* Mike Burns: He is a 29-year-old health-care sales rep in San Diego. He’s originally from Rhode Island and gets eliminated during Ashley’s first rose ceremony.
* Frank Carpenter: Frank is assistant director of admissions at the Art Institute of Nashville. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2008, where he was a cheerleader. Frank likes to sing and ballroom dance for fun.
* Chris Drish: Chris, 25, is an account manager at a Chicago law firm. He likes to rap and goes by the nickname of “Motive C.”
* Blake Julian: Blake is a dentist in Greenville, S.C. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 2010. Maybe he and Ashley – whose finishing dental school herself — can open a practice together when this is all over?
* Ben Flajnik: Ben co-owns a winery in Sonoma, Calif. He’s originally from Northern California, but lives in San Diego.
* Ben Castoriano: 27-year-old New Orleans attorney. He’s the one that was on the one-on-one with Ashley when the flash dance mob broke out!
* Anthony Santucci: He is 27 and is from New Jersey! Have we seen him on The Jersey Shore? I sure hope not!
* Bentley Williams: Ben, 28, is originally from Tampa and now lives in Alpine, Utah. He’s a divorced, with a 2-year-old daughter who he calls Cozy. Bentley graduated Brigham Young University with a degree in finance in 2007. He worked temporarily for Goldman Sachs in NYC.

Dave Maynard had “questionable feelings” about his daughter’s decision to appear on The Bachelor.

But he wasn’t surprised when the ABC reality show’s star —Brad Womack — asked for her hand in marriage.

“Emily’s a very good-looking, classy girl,” said Maynard, who has declined other media requests for interviews. “She’s a lot like her mother. She’s a decent person, and thinks she’s a catch for any man.”

Perhaps that’s because of her Morgantown roots. Emily Maynard, 25, was born and raised in the Morgantown area until the ninth grade, when she left to go to private school — first in Mercersburg, Pa., and later near Miami, though she ultimately graduated from Key West High School in Florida.

Emily lives in Charlotte, N.C., but she was in town for a visit last weekend along with her 5-year-old daughter, Josephine Riddick Hendrick. Ricki, as she’s affectionately known, was born after her father — NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, whom Emily met in Key West — was killed in a plane crash.

Maynard said his daughter didn’t say much about the show or her relationship with Womack, however.

“You have to pry it out of her, “Maynard said. “They have a strong relationship going, but it’s rocky. Right now, they’re finally in a position to where they can get to know each other. “

The couple had to keep their relationship secret until the episode featuring Womack’s proposal aired last week, as did Maynard. The show’s producers flew him to South Africa, where Emily stayed for seven weeks during filming, to meet Womack before he proposed in November.

“He walked in the room, and he was just about shaking,” Maynard said. “He was very nervous. We talked awhile. ... I like him. He’s an all-right guy. There’s nothing I see about him that I dislike.

“Emily had to sign a confidentiality agreement, but “all they asked me was ‘Don’t tell,’ ” Maynard said. “I didn’t want my name to go across the Internet with ‘Dave Maynard’s daughter won,’ so I was very careful. “

He even refused to share the show’s outcome with long-time friends — including Ken Juskowich, who has known Maynard since college. Juskowich doesn’t typically watch The Bachelor but he watched this past season to root for his friend’s daughter.

“We talked, but he wouldn’t give me any information about the show,” Juskowich said. “He said, ‘She does pretty well, but you’re going to have to watch.’ “It was exciting to see someone from Morgantown do well on television. ... It’ll be interesting to see what happens with all the hype and pressure they’re under.”

Numerous national publications — including People magazine, which features Emily on its March 28 cover— have speculated about the couple’s future. Many have suggested they’re no longer together, among other things.

“I would call them engaged,” Maynard said, but she and Womack are taking it slow.

They were only able to see each other once a month before watching the final episode together in Austin and haven’t made any wedding plans yet.

Maynard said Womack plans to visit Emily and Ricki soon in Charlotte.
Though she’s engaged, “she’s back to her life as usual,” Maynard said.

Maynard declined a request to put The Dominion Post in touch with his daughter, who has been bombarded with media requests.

Emily’s mother, Susie Maynard, took care of Ricki during filming and recently moved back to Morgan-town. But she declined to comment on her daughter’s TV appearance.

She said she and her daughter may be willing to discuss it in a month or so, but not right now.

The Dominion Post was unable to contact teachers who worked at Cheat Lake Junior High School when Emily attended classes there.

date Thursday night in Las Vegas at the Bellagio! The lucky guyis a
30-year-old Ohian Sprint sales rep named William “Will “Holman (pictured

According to RS,
the date started off at the Bellagio Conservatory, and then enjoy a
specially prepared lunch at Jean Philippe Patisserie in the Bellagio.
Later that evening they share a romantic dinner outside the Bellagio,
and RS has a pic of them embracing (so Will probably received a rose

The next day, Friday, Ashley takes 10 of the men on a date to the

NAHU’S FIRST IMPRESSION:

This guy is a man with a plan. Blake is a guy that knows where he is going and aims to get there. Hence, he is a planner and by nature is competitive. Look for him to have an outspoken voice during the live-in situation with the other guys. He can be tough. In a word, Mr. Blake tends to take life serious and for openers he has got things working for him because he’s a dentist. Hello! He fits right in the groove. Right out of the chute these are two elements that Ashley may find especially resonant. But can he loosen up when the time is ripe for fun and games?

Like I’ve said before, even though “Ash” is a serious young lady she’s also vivacious, playful and energetic. She likes her men to be fun, ready to travel or play when she’s ready for a romp. So if this somewhat conservative, reserved guy wants to keep up with her he’s got to let his hair down when she’s ready to boogie.

On a positive note, the good thing about him is that he is naturally adaptable, that is, he knows when to let go and change hats if necessary. So even though he tends to be a little too serious and uptight, he intuitively knows when to make the adjustment to keep a pretty girl interested. Can he do it on cue to satisfy the free-spirit in Ashley’s versatile character? I sense that he will and sense that he has a plan already laid out in his head that fits the bill. However, don’t be surprised to see the rigidity in his character make him appear a little awkward under fire…

Will he make it down to the final wire? I sense that he will make a strong showing and look for him to be in the group that goes the distance.
