I won't lie, I'm hoping what we are about to witness will take Nick off the market permanently.
Bring on the irreverence, the sultry, the call of the siren. Time to be enchanted, I say.

I def see your point of view, Kasha.
I just think it'll be a mix of how hard it's been for him to meet girls with the attributes he's looking for (CS def had that as a huge draw to be TB), how put off he is by the show (from his response in the bustle article about heartbreak, he gave the impression he wasn't so averse to being associated/appearing on events show-related - he alluded to the fact that when it's the right time he'll do it... that he's still close with the producers), how easy it would be to take time to do it when it comes to his job, how hard the producers sell to him that they'd find ppl compatible with him (I actually think he's pretty trusting when it comes to tptb) and several other variables including how over he is the previous girl and how it was like for him to watch one of his peers be TB (CS) and see the options CS had when it comes to contestants...
I do think he doesn't seem to be the type to "be chased" but they can select for that when it comes to the girls i.e. not too aggressive -- there are still those types even on this franchise (e.g. april B from bach canada, becca etc.)
I just think Nick's a "never say never" kinda guy ...JMHO

You and I bothKashathediva wrote:I am probably in the minority. I don't even see "it" as an opportunity.
The time frame for travel is horrendous. It's physically stressful.
They cast very few normal people. The crazier the better. So it's emotionally stressful.
And since not much is allowed for real diversion, it's mentally stressful.
If you have a good enough job, salary, family, appearance and personality, other than the prospect of increasing your 15 minutes of fame, there is no bonus or opportunity according to Kasha.
If love is really the end goal I would imagine there really are far better options.
Btw, has elan posted anything yet? Possibly he's flying to Vancouver after his stop in SF? I really hope Nick and family get to visit the beautiful city.
Oh, my fav in Jillian season is Kipton. How couldn't I root for someone from my hometown ?

I think Chris L is the only one that has confirmed that he turned the offer down.
Reid also turned it down, both he and MF have indicated this in interviews. I believe MF alluded to Reid being first choice over Jake in a 20/20 interview.
I e-mailed RS a while back asking why Reid would turn down the lead with a guaranteed 5-6 figure salary, but do trashy BP where he would fight with dozens of others to possibly win 250k. According to him, Reid was asking for too much money and that's why the deal didn't go through. I tend to believe RS when it comes to that, because Reid's exit interviews seemed to indicate that he was interested in the position. Reid was probably my first serious crush in this franchise, and I was devastated when I found out that he wasn't going to be the lead. In hindsight, I think that it was probably for the best: whenever a favorite of mine returns, either as lead or BIP/BP, I always end up losing respect for them. I know that Reid cheated on his girlfriend with Sarah Newlon at the Vegas Reunion; he probably would have disappointed me if he had been the lead and I prefer to just have nice memories of his time on TV.
I agree that Nick would make a horrible Bachelor. He's a very acquired taste and doesn't fit that typical vanilla, non-controversial, all-american mold that allows the girls' drama to take center focus. I also don't think he has that combination of looks and charisma that most women in America are instantly attracted to. I do disagree that he wouldn't be able to lead on the F2 though. We always say that about a recycled lead and we're always wrong. Even the "nice" ones like Ashley or Sean have said or done things with their F2 that they probably shouldn't have.

^^ ITA CP with regards to any cast off coming back as lead and the risk of them doing something disappointing -- I also do think the lead gets thrown under the bus more when they return but that's usually the case with F2/F3/F4 that have spotless edits...Nick would be different. I also agree with you about questioning whether Nick can "carry a show" with the girls being so into him and chasing Nick -- he is indeed a particular taste and not the hot jock (sean, brad) type that'd get automatic flood of ladies chasing after them. I think like Reid, tptb'd be selecting for girls with a very particular taste and it'd make for a very different show not exactly fitting the kind of seasons that do really well e.g. sean the "all american". I do think though, they are/have been willing to take the risk though I'd say they haven't done so very successfully >> Ben F, JPG... I think they'd be willing to take the risk with Nick if the audience is into it.
I personally don't want Nick to do it... but since ultimately it's not my decision... at this point I see him going on purely for K but I don't rule it out that he might be open to doing TB

I never liked Reid. He would have been a terrible bachelor IMO. I was an Ed fan! Haha... I do like Nick quite a bit though! My two other all time faves are Ryan Sutter and (small voice) Jef Holm. Of my list, the only one I no longer care for is Jef. I still like Ed for who he is, and I never saw him as evil incarnate the way others did.
Kasha- I agree with you, being The Bachelor is no prize. Add in the fact that very few leads who have been recycled come off looking well. To my memory the only ones who have come across better than their initial season are Ashley H. and... Hmm, drawing a blank. Ashley H. is it I guess? Lol

I do think there are some that have benefitted from the show in the long run either professionally or personally:
Travis Stork, Ali, JP/Ash, Des/Chris and all the other married couples. I'm sure there are others.

@sosleepy, I enjoyed Meredith and Jillian ( even though Jilly didn't choose Reid). I think Sean and Chris S both came off very well from their season.
I don't think Nick is in line for TB because general consensus aside from this board is that Nick is too controversial and not necessarily a favorite.

I think I will wait and see if Kaitlyn picks him before I start speculating the Bachelor

I would add Ben F. He's an example of how entrepreneurs can skyrocket their pre-existing product brand. Even though he didn't PR Bach nation post-season, from what I've read, his wine label success and vintner opps trace back to his having been on the show.
I stopped watching his season because it looked like a dud but I think he is a more savvy businessman than a lead on TV.

haha good call!!! . Let's let him have a go...pretty fun that those speculations about tweet favorites and IG posts between K and N are leading to this F3 eh? who would have thought!!
nice to see that we all have a diversity of tastes when it comes to the guys we find favorable in any given season
I liked reid & didn't feel like I understood ed enough to like him - at the time the show aired I actively disliked him - thinking back now his edit seems really bad and misleading - If I were watching now I'd probably watch that season totally differently  And like CP said - I was disappointed in Reid post-show - I guess he's the one who first showed me I should try not to put limitations on who I think theses guys/gals are and what they would/wouldn't do... you watch and you learn eh? :strings1
Loved both CL and Roberto wonderful guys and such hotties
