Re: Bachelor New Zealand - Dani
The reason that Dani posted that was because of what came out in the media. Dani posted this in regards to her DUI (drunk driving) arrest record. Matilda defended Dani on SM when it came out that she had been convicted for it.HEA wrote:
DUIs are a big deal to me. Losing someone to a drunk driver is a terrible thing. However, it is just a sign that she was young and I am hopeful she has learned from it not to drink and drive ever again.
Here's what was said about it and what Lindauer the sponsor for the show said...
The Bachelor NZ: MediaWorks confirms another conviction

The Herald can now reveal 22-year-old Auckland marketing assistant Danielle Robinson, known as Dani, has a drink-driving conviction.
.....
Show sponsor Lindauer said yesterday it had been "let down" by MediaWorks.
"Lindauer does not condone drink driving, irresponsible or illegal behaviours. We are extremely disappointed with MediaWorks and their production company as we explicitly requested that full background checks be carried out on all contestants as part of our conditions ..."

The info isn't new. It was posted in the SM/Media no discussion thread a while ago. DUI is not a joke to me or just 'dirty laundry' (to me, that is what Blake had from Bach Aussie.. lots of dirty laundry there). But for me, I take it a bit more serious b/c I have lost someone due to being hit by someone who was DUI. As long as she is sorry and has learned from it, that is what counts, imo. She is young still. Chris S had the same thing on his record, I believe.
As for dirty laundry, it comes out for all of them and has also been posted in the SM thread a few weeks ago for Danielle L. (convicted of fraud $40K plus), Danielle B (still married and on the show) and Matilda (works for Mediaworks and something which I posted about in her thread and discussed as a red-flag and still is a red-flag to me. So I look at all the aspects, even when I like someone).

Re: Bachelor New Zealand - Dani
AAL, so sorry for your loss. My big sister was an alcoholic and drove drunk too often. Once she quit, she said that never hurting anyone else while drunk was one of the things she was most grateful for.
Hopefully, Dani learned and it is a mistake she doesn't make again.
They really did a horrible job vetting the contestants on this show, and honestly for both Dani and Art's sake I kind of hope she isn't chosen as the media will not be kind.
Of course if Mathilda is chosen, they will call her a producer plant.

I understand you and it is serious. Now she does not have to carry it until she dies with a sign on top of her head because she made a mistake or be burnt to hell.
she made a mistake. she is young. she did not kill anybody and sadly hundred of young and not so young people drink and drive every freaking day.
so why not give her a break and remain in the show and try not to make her the evil contestant for something she did before the show and I am sure paid dearly for it.
so lets move on to happy dani thread. I am sure you did explain in big long details in the other SM thread about it.

It is tough but I don't see it as intentional on the DUIs part. I don't think most people intend to drive drunk or hurt anyone. It is just a bad idea to do in case something does go wrong.stuckinsc wrote:AAL, so sorry for your loss. My big sister was an alcoholic and drove drunk too often. Dani is young and mistakes happen. I am sure she has learned from it.
Yes, Matilda already has had the producer plant controversy since she started on the show. And she definitely could be as I speculated in her thread.
They knew about Dani's driving record, Danielle B being married, and also Matilda working for Mediaworks. All 3 had disclosed this before applying. So it was not a matter of these 3 not being honest. So I respect all 3.
Regarding Danielle L, the fraudster, she didn't disclose that she had been convicted. But, Mediaworks didn't carry out those background checks on her or if they did, they didn't let it change their minds on having her on the show. Perhaps because it had happened a long time ago? Maybe there were not that many girls to apply anyway...

Re: Bachelor New Zealand - Dani
Just to let it be known... I am not a "Fan" of anyone on the show. What I mean is this... according to this board rules, fan threads mean nothing negative posted about the person. I have posted negative things about Matilda in her thread and will continue to do so. If there is information to sleuth, whether it can be seen as good or bad, I will post it - no matter how much I like the person, I will post the negative as well as the good. That's what helps me sleuth.
That being said, I don't think Dani is a bad person at all. I think she is a really good person and made a mistake.
