Love, it was only after the spoilers were posted here that he put up in his column the next day that Ben proposed. In his column the day before that, he said he didn't have any details on the FRC or the ATFR.

That bothers me about this season as well. I really think the Bentley storyline backfired on them. Originally, TPTB probably wanted us to believe she was still hung up on Bentley up until HTDs when she said, "Bentley who?", but everyone got so angry at it that they edited her conversation with him in episode 6 differently than they planned and had her film that "FU Bentley" ITM. I think if this whole storyline hadn't backfired on them, we would've seen even less of the other three guys and Ashley edited to still be hung up on him in episode 6. It was going to be all about whether she could get over Bentley and fall in love with someone else by the end. I bet JP wouldn't have been so obvious if everything had gone to plan.

I for one am thrilled with the edit this season.
I believe that if they had edited it with more focus on the Bentley garbage, :puke: no one would have believed that she was into JP as much as she obviously is.

I also think that TPTB may have learned a lesson from the Brad and Emily fiasco that it didn't help the couple's real life relationship to NOT show their relationship developing to them. By focusing on Brad's relationship with Chantall, and all the RS stuff that went with that, EMILY didn't see her love story in the show and couldn't go with the process through the Real Time season.

I think that JP could watch his season with pride and maintain his confidence in his relationship with Ashley. THIS, I believe is Key for TPTB to realize that for the franchise to have credibility, it has to produce some relationships that actually last. Otherwise, the viewers think of it as a farce and and it could also affect potential quality in contestants.

One has to wonder how much of the post production drama actually sinks these relation-ships before they can gain the momentum needed to weather the regular storms of dating in real :loveboat: life.

That actually might explain it, Peppermom! If she had moved to Sonoma she was gonna be my dentist and we'd sip Evolve chardonnay in a hot tub (but only if Ben was there too!). :awesome:
