I have to be honest here. The whole 2 hours was anticlimactic, flat, almost sleep-inducing. Even the unprecedented action of Mom and Dad coming to join them and congratulate them made me see how he lit up around them. Is that really how someone says I love you for the first time? I expected more of the excitement I felt that him being able to finally say it would evoke. I really don't know how I feel, but the reality is he chose her and I hope they eventually have the great love he wanted so badly. Time can take of that, day-to-day living once they are out of the spotlight, really getting to know each other. Though I loved Becca as a person - and still do and hope for the great love she may find someday - I would never wish the demise of any marriage. It is good they are giving this the test of time, to see if it works for them. I guess I bought into the edit of Whitney. I don't know her - or Chris - or Becca - for that matter. Any relationship that can withstand the strain of what the tabloids have already been throwing at them will have to be a strong one. Having someone witness any relationship in the making has to be weird, but it is a decision these people choose and of course we choose to watch - or not.

If he had chosen Becca...interesting how Chris H. pushed it. Makes you wonder why. One thing, though, I wish I could be witness when Becca truly falls in love. I think it might be earth shattering. Maybe it will just feel "right". I don't like the feeling of being let down I experienced for the last 3 hours I thought I couldn't wait for. I need to go have ice cream or a mug of French vanilla cappuccino.

Idk, I'm feeling a breath of fresh air and realness about them compared to the Andi and Josh social media binge immediately post ATFR taping. I feel like Whitney and Chris are both more mature than at least the past two couples.

If CH and TPTB wanted Britt so badly, they just should have chosen her. I seriously don't even know why she was in consideration. She was F6. There has never been a bachelorette before that has finished out of the F4. I think the guys on night one will pick Britt over Kaitlyn, unfortunately. I think that will create some negative backlash toward Britt - Kaitlyn was clearly the audience favorite and has been the favorite on twitter. This was such a bad idea for them to do this. The audience reaction to this really fell flat, imo. To me, Chris Harrison sort of had a look on his face that he wasn't expecting that sort of reaction from the audience at all.

I know they always say that it doesn't matter who the lead is, but I think this is a case where I think it will at least have some impact.

JMO. I don't think so. I don't think anyone who was really involved with the show would ever admit it, but Becca was simply fulfilling a role in my book. I think the show is getting even more scripted than I ever thought or maybe it is just evolving much faster, proof being Whitney got the wedding crasher date and the mural.

Yes and he is starting up his public speaking which will mean he will be traveling and away alot. My guess is he picked W because he had to propose to someone, Becca wasn't ready, so he will put his 6 months in and they will break up (JMO). Just like almost all the other Bachelors before him... I thought this one had a chance.

IRL lots of men don't get a "yes" the first time they ask. Doesn't mean they have to spend the rest of their lives pining after "the one that got away." Many (most?) move on quick successfully and fall in love again.
