I think Whitney is at the stage in her life where she is ready for marriage and babies. Becca seems to very slowly be heading in that direction. I can't see her ready for all that in the next few years.

To someone else's point, many of the contestant decide to go on a certain season because they like the lead from the previous season and want to meet them. Whitney is no different. I could list quite a few who have done that. Heck, one of the couples is even married now because she told the producers no until she found out he was The Bachelor. It happens. So I think Whitney liked the Chris she saw last season and wanted to get to know him, which the editors have conveniently forgot to show us other than Whitney meeting his friends.

Actually she said it first thing out of the limo, she had her yellow shoes and black dress all for Chris and the Iowa Hawkeyes.  She told his sisters she was there just because it was him.  The whole season she has known all about him.  They didn't hide that Whitney came there for Chris and Chris alone.  Just like Cat came for Sean alone.  Difference between Whit and Cat to me is that they showed Cat actually getting to know Sean and building on what she liked.  The editors never showed us Whitney actually getting to know Chris.  I am not saying she didn't, just they never showed it. So to me Whitney is more like Josh, who came on for Andi, but to me never actually took the time to get to know the real Andi, just assumed that what he knew was real.  Then they left and real life didn't work. I watched Sean and Cat spend a season showing that while they were very different from one another they actually communicated and grew and got to know each other and build on an initial attraction. I don't think either Cat or Sean was falling in love with the other on night one at all.  JMO.

ETA, I have never lived north of Atlanta, GA. And I was and am willing to move to Idaho, Washington State or Chicago for my husband. Heck he talked about a position in Utah too. I love him, so I will learn to adjust to the cold weather. It is what you do if you love someone. Oh and BTW, I would have done this immediately if he had been willing to leave this are then. I would rather have done my graduate education elsewhere. I went to a lower ranked school than I could have to be with him. These are all things that while if you were single you wouldn't do, but when you find the person that you love you go for it.

I noticed that too. The fact that she corrected him bugged me. It made him look like he doesn't even know the population of his home town, and she had one up on him. I think it was her way of showing him, she did her homework.

She shouldn't have recently tweeted that she would never quit her job since her edit appears she is willing to move to Arlington and have babies. Reminds me of Jason/Melissa.

Please, excuse me ... since I do like reading your opinion(s) ... but I disagree with that particular sentence.

She said that she knew about Chris and just knew he was the right man for her. The exact same attitude that she started their first epi 3 date, which was their first extended time together at all. She was falling in love with him at the beginning of episode 3, she did say it then. So yes, I am sorry I exaggerated it. The point is still the same to me. We have not been shown Whitney at any time getting to know Chris. We always see her showing Chris how she is right for him. One of the few times, the look how perfect I am for you mask of hers has slipped at all in front of Chris. JMO.

^I don't remember Whit tweeting she would never quit her job. Someone tweeted her that she had quit and she responded "news to me."

When RS posted that she had quit her job, someone who says they know Whit posted in his comment section that Whit "would never quit her job" and instead had been promoted to a new role focused on education and advocacy. Gave rise to speculation she has a new role with the same clinic that might be able to be done remotely.

The farm does get internet,right?

IMO the Whitney edit vs Becca edit shows 1 woman definitive in her feelings and gung-ho for farm life, marriage, and babies vs 1 woman in the process of translating her emotions and as of yet unclear as to farm life & the marriage timeline.

In a way, Whitney is what Chris thought he wanted when he signed up.  It was all about finding a woman to take back to the farm and plunk her into his lifestyle... a bit of a caveman approach.  Fortunately he does have chemistry with Whit and she does seem sincere. I believe she is at the chapter of her life where being a wife & mother is her priority.  Like many of you, I felt she was chasing him initially based on his tv appearance but she seems to have matched up tv Chris with real Chris and is happy with that.  IMO Whitney and Chris are alike in that they tend to set a linear course, are goal oriented and strategic. 
  
Becca, on the other hand, seems to have not prepared herself beforehand for the possibility of being chosen in the end.  At this point she is just beginning to think through the possibility of moving, life on a farm or nearby, as well as processing what it means to be falling in love.  I think Becca represents, to a degree, the dream girl of his youth.  Harkening back to a time of innocence when everything is "a first"... the anticipation of a first kiss, the awakening of desire - butterflies and rainbows.  This is something that appeals to him and I think his high school date with Jade hinted at this as well. Being with Becca has made Chris slow down and rethink the order of his priorities.  IMO Becca and Chris are alike in that they process their thoughts aloud to make sense of them and are unfiltered.

Chris is attracted to two girls with very different personalities.  I suppose this is evident because the edit only focuses on each in a 2-dimensional way.  I would think realistically that he needs something "in the middle", a blending of what he imagined as his future (head) with what he had imagined in the past (heart before he became tied to the farm). I'm thinking there should be a shift in Arlington to bring clarity although the season preview does show him struggling to get clarity.  There really might be a twist.

What's really confusing to me is why Whitney's so worried that her sister could have sabotaged her relationship with Chris. She's 29 is she not? Who cares what her sister thinks? I'm guessing TPTB were putting fears in her head about that (which btw is an F1 trick...so maybe she was F1 at this stage...hence F1 FS...point for Whitney's column). Anyway, Whitney seems like she could be prone to fretting...and TPTB exploited that.

All I know as a viewer is that I was exhausted listening to her express her concerns on the boat. It also bothered me that she couched it in terms of now she was behind the other girls (making me think competition...whether she intended that or not). Why not just straight out ask Chris if he was troubled by her sister's remarks? And, didn't they already have that conversation at her apt/condo?* Why not focus on the connection they have rather than try to "fix" the one piece that seems broken. It still feels like she's trying to convince Chris to "pick me."...imo.

I think she and Chris had a long day and they edited out the natural, starry-eyed times and stressed the conflict talk for the overall edit. Too bad, but creates the tension they want. That said, I think the Brooks-Des edit really turned a lot of people off from the show. I wonder if they learned from that (I don't think so but I wish, hate the anguish).

I thought it looked like it maybe did bother him. It just seemed like she was desperate to have the perfect fairytale and the sister expressing doubt ruined that momentarily and she just couldn't let it go. I would be concerned about how realistic she really is, if she's looking for 100% perfection. Maybe that's what made Chris ask her in detail about moving to Arlington? Maybe he wanted to find out if she has any realistic idea of the place and what moving there would mean, or if she's expecting it to be another perfect part of the perfect fairytale. If I were Chris I'd be really worried about not living up to her expectations.
