Was the location of the "i love u" ever sleuthed to be near one of the girl's FS?

It occurred to me that if Chris had picked Becca it would have set a dangerous precedent for the show. When the lead can't decide among all the choices and doesn't propose TPTB can spin that against the lead. But for the lead to pick a girl that won't say "i love you" or accept a proposal because she'd hadn't had enough time with the bachelor calls the whole format into question. The SM discussion would have been.. finally someone gets real on the bachelor. It may make the next bachelor feel (extra) foolish for proposing, so they would get fewer. Not picking Becca means that CH can continue to refer to her as an immature child for not getting with the program.

Is there anything in the lead's contract about proposing or are they free to do whatever they want?

The last thing we heard was Chris say he'll have her back and Becca say she can't wait. We now hear that Becca knew and prepared herself for the FRC. What did we miss after "I can't wait"?!

I actually wonder if her handler and TPTB were pressuring her up until the limo to say ILY. I bet she was emotionally exhausted after a week of being pushed to get with the program and say ILY. I bet when they continued the pressure she knew he wasn't going to stand up for her.

Yeah, I agree. I think that they would have given him AND Becca a bad edit, if he had done that. I can bet that CH would have asked "all season, you said that you were looking for a wife and you were ready to settle down and have a family. Yet, you couldn't commit to the woman that was willing to give that to you? " It could have totally been a Brad 1.0 situation. It's crazy to me how much negativity Becca has gotten for this, when she's probably the most mature and realistic person to ever go on the show.

IMO, Chris and TPTB were expecting her to say the magic ILY at the FRC...
Not a coincidence for me that C and Becca's outfits were a perfect match and C had quite a pause during his speech, kind of waiting of it to be said...At least he may have tried to give it a last shot.
