Remember Meredith saying to Matthew "It's the show" when he asked her about being honored to accept a ring from him. We heard JP mention over and over again that the premise of the show is someone gets their heart broken. That sounds cold but that is the end result.

We seasoned veterans know that the hurt and embarrassment of being rejected on NATIONAL TV last a short while. Who hasn't benefitted from time away from work and the mundane to reflect on who they are and what they want in life? Last season, Chantal realized she was open to love and found it quickly. Chris L knew he wanted a special woman and he found one of the best alumnae from this entire franchise, shortly after being rejected.

None of us want to see Ben hurt but to paraphrase Meredith "it's the show". And as JP says, "It's a mind fxxx". Yes, it is.

She also cuddled into his chest on their FD after he promised her it's not a competition. And ITA with the bold too, he may think he's "in charge," but he's completely whipped and just spends his time looking at her adoringly. HAHA.

I just rewatched the FD today and this was absolutely my favorite part! Watch his face during that snuggle time.. she puts her head down on his chest and he leans forward and nuzzles her back, and then after a few moments, he just closes his eyes and like, breathes her in. Now that is a man who has completely fallen. And in that moment, it's like you can just watch him let go. *sigh* :hrtbeat:

You would think seeing JP get upset then watching Ashley breakdown because they didn't like him, would have been a big ole clue right there! Apparently not!

I'm beginning to wonder if Chrystie wasn't 'encouraged' by the producers to be a naysayer about JP. After all, she has her own reality TV show so she knows that some controversy draws in viewers. With their chemistry so obvious, TPTB needed more drama to make us question their connection.

Ashley strikes me as the type of person who did everything so perfectly and excelled so often as compensation for an absentee father. To stand up to her family, and say, "yes, I'm doing what I want" is a big step for her. Chrystie, being the oldest sibling, is accustomed to being "Leader of the Pack" and now Ashley is not following along.

I don't get why sis says to Ashley that its not about JP. This is when Ash tells sis that JP felt defeated. What else could it be about??? IMO - I think sis likes the attention; the TPTB knew this and manipulated the whole confrontation.
