I'm thinking the same thing.

If Robert wanted to go slow tell her that.  He didn't like her that way or else he would at least stay up and talk. I love that he wanted to take it slow, if true.

That was so confusing. Robert seemed so upset. Maybe he just wanted to take things slow..... But why not tell her that?
