The lead is on their best behaviour the first night. It usually takes a while for producers and us to really dislike them. If I remember correctly, even JPab did well the first night.

Somehow I get the feeling that the producers won't be regretting this choice...and neither will I!

Oh, I so hope you are right. I think Chris is hot (especially since Cody whipped him into shape) but I thought he was kinda boring on The Bachelorette.  I hope that was just editing and that he is more varied and outgoing than he was shown to be, but not too much of a character if you   know what I mean.

I think the HTD showed more of his real, fun personality through his interactions with his family, but unfortunately the producers rarely let us see the interesting aspects of anybody. No doubt, we will once again be treated to a sanitized version of the real person. I find out more about the cast through the detective work of our fine sleuthers than I do from the show, but that helps me to get to know them better and read between the lines and makes them more enjoyable to watch.

In general I like Chris, but he is one of those guys where pics he is really hot and others like this, I just look at and think, yeah, okay, what is the big deal?

I agree with the comment above. I just don't see the big deal. Will be just wanting to know who's the next Bachette.

So no public first date with pictures like in so many season. Maybe that girl will actually have a shot this season. I'll be a bit intrigued if we get through the first rose ceremony with no pictures. There's almost always a public date to put something out there and drum up interest. I guess it's almost a given with the Bachelorettes (Ashley's William, Emily's Ryan, Brooks and Eric) that they really put a guy out there. Bachelors not as much of a trend, but still usually there's something from the first set of dates.

I don't recall if Juan's first date was public. It wasn't until that race date that it was.
