That whole press release was gag worthy! I hope he gets dumped.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

LOL
Atem you slay me!
I am beginning to jump on the same bandwagon with this moronic show. Snarkville here I come.
I do reserve the right to stay openminded, however. They could cast a few good women. Even a broken watch is right twice a day.

FAN FAVORITE CHRIS SOULES SEARCHES FOR LOVE AGAIN ON ABC'S HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES "THE BACHELOR"
FAN FAVORITE CHRIS SOULES SEARCHES
FOR LOVE AGAIN ON ABC’S HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES,
“THE BACHELOR,” WHEN IT RETURNS TO ABC IN JANUARY 2015
The 32-year-old Midwestern bachelor and self-proclaimed romantic has been engaged once before. Heartbroken, Chris ended that seven-year relationship just months before he expected to walk down the aisle. Although his relationship with his fiancée was good, he didn’t want to settle for “good.” He wanted “great.” While the humble but enormously successful farmer from tiny Arlington, Iowa (pop. 427) has found it difficult to date, that hasn’t stopped him from having faith that one day he will find the perfect woman for him. His experience on “The Bachelorette” made him realize that love really is out there, and he is confident that he will find it this time on “The Bachelor.”
Seriously? Does anyone else have a problem with this guy stringing along a woman for 7 years only to break it off because he realized he didn't want to settle for good? And they have the nerve to call him heartbroken over that?
It definitely gives me pause. If the relationship started when they were teenagers then it's understandable, but they were engaged, so it wasn't just dating. He made a commitment to her and then backed out just before the wedding. I can't really blame her for that, since he promised to marry her. Not saying it wasn't the right thing for everyone to call it off, if he wasn't sure about it, but you'd think he would've been sure before he proposed. Oh well, who knows how it all went down. Just a bit weird to call him heartbroken when he was the one breaking it off. Maybe it's just my prejudice towards him, but I don't think he was being totally genuine on the Bachelorette and I'm kind of curious to see how long he can keep up the act as the lead.
By the way, when did the population of Arlington drop by 300 people? You'd think it would have grown with all the single women trying to catch him.

I don't have a problem with that. I'd want to settle for great, and not "good". Plus I just went through that a couple of years ago with my son. He dated a girl for 13 yrs, I love her to death. He realized he loved her, but was not in love with her.
It was a horrible time, but she met someone soon after, and is now married. So all is good. Everyone told me at the time, better now than later when they got married and started a family. I wouldn't say he strung her along. It's a relationship from age 15yrs old, that he grew out of. I can see Chris's point.
And wasn't she part of the situation? If you think you are ready and the man you are with doesn't want to marry, then you need to ask yourself, are you okay waiting or is something not right?
I hate that the man always takes the blame. Women are not victims and everything doesn't have to be the man's choice. A woman needs to take responsibility and stand up for herself.
This is a problem I see with a lot of young women today, waiting for the man to make up his mind as thought they are at his mercy. I always say, if a guy cant make up his mind when you are ready to marry him, easy, dump him!

No problem at all! I will be so thankful to him for setting me free. It was going to happen eventually, better now, than later after marriage and kids. IMO, it takes real courage to break off after so many years, he must have really cared for her.

I feel like people are making way too many assumptions here. Do we know that he kept saying "I don't want to get married" until he finally succumbed after 7 years? I know lots of couples who dated for 5-8 years before getting married and it had nothing to do with anyone being commitment-phobic or unsure of their relationship; it was usually just a combination of wanting to graduate from school, be financially secure, and be able to afford a house together. For all we know, he never said anything about having any doubts until they got engaged; the girl might have been completely blind-sided and never in a position to realize that he wasn't on the same page.
It's really impossible to make any judgements about who the "victim" was, unless we know the specifics of their relationship.

Actually quite a number of contestants over the seasons had lengthy relationships that hit a dead end prior to joining the show. Chris is no different than, say, Zack on Des's season and BIP. (Only Clare Bear had her hissy fit because he was TOO cautious and "wanting to take it slow" with her.) Yet it probably is no big deal... and we don't know all of the "why".
Humorously, there was much questioning as to why Josh had been out of the Dating Game for over five years. Andi questioned him as if he had a contagious disease or something.
The whole "I don't want good, I want great" theme was also repeated in Andi and Nick's conversations during and after his first date. I think she used that as an "excuse" for dumping both him and Chris. She said they both deserved "great" with somebody besides her. Funny how that theme wasn't repeated with Josh. Is she simply "good" with him or have they found "great"?
It is All About The Storyline, regardless of how "real" it is.
