Awesome, GA. Thanks! I thought this thread might be great, especially with all the college football talk surrounding this season of the bachelorette.

I am personally a University of Texas fan, I bleed burnt orange! I am looking forward the Charlie Strong era of Texas football, would be happy to never hear again that UT was Jameis Winston's first choice and hope that ESPN College Gameday would hire Mack Brown. I think he and Lee Corso would be great together!

I hope other fans will post here, though I can talk to myself if necessary, just don't laugh at me too much!

Okay, college football fans, it starts in less than a month. I expect all you Jodi fans in here posting. Joshie loves him some football!

Okay, I'm in. I don't really follow college football closely but I love all the Gator merchandise and loyalty to their teams, when I'm in Florida.

First thing I need to know, that I've seen posted so many times in the last couple of months, what does SEC mean???

Yup, SEC = South Eastern Conference.

It is composed of two divisions, East and West. The West has Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Louisiana State, and Arkansas. The East has University of Florida (those evil Gators), University of Georgia, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt, University of Kentucky, and University of Missouri.

GA, Jodi fans will not like you much. The UGA Bulldogs do not like the Florida Gators at all. LSU is also made fun of by the Gators too, so maybe Jodi has that in common.

My husband is a graduate of Florida State University, so he doesn't like the Gators either. FSU is part of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

My team, Texas, is part of the Big 12, which now has 10 teams, how funny. That is because the traitors that are Missouri and Texas A&M left us for the SEC. Missouri mostly because they are whiners. Texas A&M wanted more money and respect.

Please feel free to ask, I will be happy to share info and bring you up to speed.

Ok well, I do have a bulldog toy that plays a marching band song and screams go dawgs I picked it up at the Atlanta airport for my dogs on the way back from Florida one year. Does that count?

It's ok, I'm used to fans not liking each other. I'm a hockey fan first, they can be brutal. (Maybe I shouldn't mention that to hockey fans in Atlanta.  :hidingchair )

Well, I have to support my favourite state Florida. My son is a Gator fan, so that's my team too! I will have to check out the rosters!

I watched the Thrashers play in Atlanta, was so excited to finally live in a city with NHL hockey. When the car accident happened and Dany Heatley survived he was never the same again. Plus the strike the season when the all star game was supposed to be in Atlanta, kind of killed the franchise. I drove that corner where the accident was every Sunday too and from church and it was a brutal corner. I was so sad for all involved with that accident.

Now I did grow up a Bruins fan, sorry, but Dad was from Boston, same reason I am a Braves fan, they started in Boston as well and Dad used to watch their games all the time. I even got to take him to a couple Braves games when I lived in ATL before he got too sick.

I never liked UF growing up as I was a Miami fan (hangs head in shame, they are not a nice football team). The old Florida coaches are now at South Carolina and Ohio State.

I have no problem with anyone else liking any other team and actually hope we can get some good trash talking going in here, it is part of the joy of college football!

My husband, the FSU fan, spent all season reminding me that their quarterback who ended up winning the Heismann Trophy and helping them win the national championship had wanted to go to Texas, but our coach Mack Brown never recruited him! Yup, trash talk is the name of the game in college football!

I am proud of Charlie Strong for not comprising how he wants the team run. I respect him for releasing players and especially good players who refuse to play by the rules.
