It's a way of getting back at Vaughn.
Atem, I would have thought that she would hold out on being so sexual with him, but I guess she enjoys it waaay to much. LOL!

Monet did tell Dr Logan that she can compartmentalize sex from the lack of emotional intimacy because she's not in love yet. But this emoticon is what I feel  like when I watch those 2.  deadhorse
What I don't understand about Monet still having sex with Vaughn is that to me it is so obvious that he dislikes her. It's one thing to have sex with a man you don't know very well but are attracted to, but something entirely different (IMO) to have sex with a man who doesn't like you as a person. I just don't get how she can compartmentalize that.

I think on a whole, Vaughn does like parts of Monet's personality.  However, I haven't seen Monet sacrifice as must Vaughn for the marriage; even though Monet says that she's willing to do what it takes to make the marriage work.  I really believe that it's Monet's lack of sacrifice as compared to Vaughn's that turns Vaughn off at times.

I see it as whatever sacrifice, large or small, either Money or Vaughn makes for the other, they both subconsciously resent it and feel they should be rewarded or applauded for it, and when they're not, they resent it even more. I don't get that same feeling from the other couples. Like I said, I think it's partly due to each already feeling pretty complete and self sufficient in their existing life, and looking for a partner more for what that person can do for THEM to enhance that life than in creating a whole new life with the partner.

I also think that having sex immediately while barely knowing each other also didn't help their overall chances of success. I really sense a general lack of respect on both sides, which isn't healthy, and probably is why sometimes they seem to do/say things to spite each other.

I was watching the Social Life episode again today, and it struck me how Doug & Jamie handled dinner with his parents. Doug planned the meal and made the grocery list, Jamie did the shopping and started the cooking, when Doug got home he help with the cooking (Doug had a large knife in his hand when they answered the door so it seems he was cooking as well). They really do seem to live their "Teamwork makes the dream work" motto with no drama over who is going to do what.

To me, Doug & Jamie and Cortney & Jason demonstrates "teamwork" in their marriage which is sadly missing in Vaughn and Monet's marriage.

Married At First Sight - Season 1 - General Discussion - **Spoilers** - Page 43 Empty Re: Married At First Sight - Season 1 - General Discussion - **Spoilers**

Post by GuardianAngel Sun Aug 24, 2014 6:52 pm

I just finished watching the last epi. Watching Jamie brought tears to my eyes listening to her talk about her past. Courtney was so emotional as well speaking about Jason and meeting his mother.

It's incredible to watch these two couples who hardly know each other gain trust in each other and are trying to make it work.

It's a big deal for Jamie, as she mentioned she doesn't talk about her life in a trailer park. Opening up to Doug will be difficult. He is the most patient loving guy, he's so perfect for her and exactly what she needs.

I like Vaughn, I like his quiet laid back demeanour. Monet is too boisterous for me. She looses me when she's ranting. The whole sex before anything else is a turn off for me. They are on the same page, they both enjoy it, but everything else is a mess.

I'm glad they tried cooking. That's another thing that is a turn off for me. No disrespect to anyone, but if you don't cook, why not at least try. A friend of mine's sister, divorced, has two children. She takes out every single day. It's so irresponsible IMO. (That's what drove me nuts about Ali F laugh out loud )

I tweeted Monet and congratulated her on trying, and suggested she start with a crock pot. She favoured my tweet. Smiley

What had me scratching my head was that being able to cook was one of Vaughn's "must have" on his list of qualities; so, why did they pick someone for him who could not/did not cook??? scratch

GA, you're not the only one! I felt so bad for Jamie, but I was so glad that she went back and took Doug with her. It's important for Doug to understand where Jamie comes from, the struggles she's had, along with the hurt and pain to fully understand what makes her tick today. My husband grew up in a similar situation, not that he's mother did drugs but she was always out with every Tom, Dick and Harry, leaving 4 young kids at home in a trailer with no food. It can leave so many emotional scares and trust issues. Doug really is the perfect match for Jamie, she's going to be one happy lady.

I laughed at your cooking comment... I'm the same way, I don't understand not cooking. My mom would always say, "if you can read, you can cook....open a cookbook!"
I get tired of Monet and Vaughn. I can't stand listening to the constant combative bickering between them. I find it exhausting.

Lol, what I don't get is when people say they can cook but can not bake. ???? To me, baking is a part of cooking. I just don't get it. giggling

Monet doesn't seem opposed to cooking, it just isn't something she does. She seemed to jump into the cooking lesson with excitement. So, maybe that was how they justified it, ie something that could change.

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?
