The producers of the show still use edit like the Bachelor producers do. I wondered after they showed Vaughn asking about the ménage á trois. I had a feeling it was taken out of context. I do have my doubts about their relationship but think there's more good than we've been shown.

I also think that Jamie's schedule has been overstated. I imagine she gets extra days off for working 12 hour shifts so she & Doug probably have more time than we've seen. I also imagine his mom has had time to get to know her.

I have family members who are medical professionals working in hospitals, so I can give a small amount of insight into what Jamie's work schedule might be like.
A lot depends on how well staffed the hospital is, regarding nurses. If they are short staffed, the work week may not stop at 40 hrs. And 12 hr shifts have become pretty normal most places. The night shift it typically the hardest shift to keep well staffed, because not everyone's body is going to handle that schedule / stress for long periods of time. Seniority plays a role in hrs worked as well as being "on call" to fill in for someone else who has a family emergency or gets sick. Time off has to be arranged in advance, usually weeks prior to longer.
it's tough to plan family events around the sleep schedule of someone who works nights. But it can be done if everyone understands or at least tries to. I think once Doug's family fully understands that, it will smooth things out.

I am very impressed with Courtney's maturity. Doug is just plain adorable and when Monet and Vaughn actually listen to one another, I sometimes think they might make it!
