Since his blogs are short-ish, do we want to post them, maybe in a separate thread or should we just leave them on the site to ensure he's getting the blog 'hits'?

I vote for link. Mainly because it's easier for me if I'm posting it.
If we wanted to bring over it all I'm not opposed either. It think it'd be better to give him the hits.
