I was reading in another thread were somebody stated there is a possibility that TPTB made Nick the villein because Andi might have made a choice last minute to pick Josh so that people won't feel weird about the ending.  Also, to justify why Andi picked Josh at the end given all the great things she has said about her relationship with Nick.
But I don't see it that way.  If they did not make Nick the Villein, what show would they have had? They had to make him the Villein for added drama and to also hide the love story between Nick and Andi.  Judging from SM, nobody wants Nick to be F1.  I think the more surprising ending/drama and what will keep people talking would be if she picked Nick than if she picked Josh IMHO.  This would garner a lot of sympathy for Josh which will then catapult his chances of becoming the next Bachelor.

JMOAA: because....the devil Fleiss love him some curve ball, boomerang, sort of dramatic effect in the very very end   

on Des's season he implied the ending as 'out of the left field'. this season we see the term curve ball a lot (see: JBF's analysis on edit thread). Oh well, perhaps, i would bring over (Thanks JBF!) :

Rudie (the attorney like Andi) mentions it in episode #1 after being dumped at the first rose ceremony: “This is a curve ball. It is not what I expected, because when I came in here... I was aiming for the fences. Y'know I thought I was gonna hit that ball right out of the park. Everyone in my life was, like, Oh my gosh! Like, you guys are gonna get married and have kids!”

Brian in episode #6 (lie detector test): “The date card says ‘I’m looking for true love’. So it was hard to figure out what we will be doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a curve ball.”

Josh is playing baseball in his intro video "Meet Josh M." and at hometown with Andi. No mention of "curve ball" in the former. Maybe it will get referenced on Monday?

In any case, it doesn't look good for Josh. OK for the other three... including your favorite? Can't keep up whether or not you are still rooting for Teddy Bear any more. He did say he was 100% confident he will wind up with her in the end.

During Desiree's season, Mike Fleiss suggested there would be a curve ball "out of left field". This was after Reality Steve confirmed Brooks.

Me : well, my adorable Prince Siegfried also had the same 'confidence' as Nick, altho it didnt come off as 'arrogant'. yet its worth for folks to call him 'delusional'.

the way i see it : agree with stuc...they need to drum up a silly villain drama and tone down the fraternity this season; they couldnt make their beloved ADA as the villain...Nick with his 'enigma' personality is the best candidate for that, since we dont really have d-bag this season (e.g. Brian J on Des's and Rego on Ali's that have GFs or James on Des's who wanted to be the Bachelor).

in the same vein....after his lowest low...it will be a 'curve ball' for viewers to see his bright side after Eric's death announcement. ..and his relation with Andi will come up into light i.e. time for us to see Andi's 'reciprocating' the great love. OTOH Josh will get his own 'curve ball' too. I lean more all of this being launched on epi.9 as Eric's passing will be announced in the end of epi.8. Yet viewers will keep on their toes to see Andi dump Nick since we got the plane vid implying "she changed her mind at the last minute".  Tehehehhehe....The vid serves as 'the elephant in the room' for those who wanted to see a LS unfold. A sweet Kaboom in the horizon!..  . WTG Fleiss!   .. eventhough you cant fool me   (Now i know why i like Nick, i too love
'strategizing'   :giggle:   )

Note that out of the left field and curve ball are Baseball's term (former career of both my Prince and Josh...  )

I'm pretty sure he started following (or re-following) his ex-girlfriend on instagram tonight. Not F1.
And I have been out and about all weekend day/night in Chicago. Where does he hang out? I might be influenced to stop by any place he regulars.
