according to the last preview on fb they're trying to create suspense around nick - that they said goodbye and he's not at the rose ceremony...maybe that she said good bye to him at his hometown....

You're right  The question is why?

I think it's to keep Nick at the forefront.  It's sorta like the game Nick asked Andi to play - "this or that".

The edit plants seeds of doubt or controversy and it gets people talking about Nick from one week to another week and another week...  "Why did Nick do this?  Why doesn't Andi see that?  The guys said this about Nick because he did that. NICK NICK NICK  It can't be Nick because he did this and that. "
Just check out the space a lot of bloggers and rag mags are giving in an article each week to Nick.  Doesn't matter if they like him or not, they do seem to talk a lot of "this or that" Nick stuff.

They really are overdoing the villain bit IMO. It may be the storyline: oh no will Andi pick the wrong guy (the bad guy) over all these wonderful perfect people right in front of her. "will she see the light in time and pick the good guy?" Silly if you ask me. And regarding this franchise losing credibility - I think that happened a long time ago - they exploit for ratings.

1st 1on1 date with Nick is SB ...

Andi: "If I develop real feelings for him I can turn him into a believer."

And she did ... turn him into a believer.
So, why would a TB franchise want to "destroy" someone who finally starts to believe into a show that lost a lot of "credibility" over the years?

She also said on her Venice 1 on 1 that "if she chooses Nick, she could say Venice is where she fell in love."  I think because of the spoiler, many are overlooking just about everything regarding Nick.

I think the passing of Eric is going to have an effect on the rest of this season.  Kind of a wake up call to take this seriously and take love by the horns and go for what her heart really wants no matter what.

BTW, slightly off topic (sorry nota) but I do think that SM is being a little influenced by this board.  Long discussion yesterday about lakes, lake houses, etc.  Then today top of my FB feed is Momma Murray posting lakehouse pics.  WTH!

What do you make of Brian's prediction in Brussels that he bets Nick will be one of the final 2 and he'll walk away? Now, he didn't say under what circumstances Nick would walk away. The producers leave those Easter Eggs in the final cut for a reason. If we're talking about her saying she's open to moving or she fell in love in Venice, then we need to consider all the go's and ITMs and conversations.

It looks like Nick's suit jacket is similar in color to the jacket Andi was wearing when they were told of Eric's death. Dusty Rose.

after Brian said that, he was gonezo, eliminated by Andi.. .all the guys who already voiced their reasons 'against Nick' (per editing, in the episode or their PI/ITM....we dont know what exactly what went down) were all get booted by Pookie    : Andrew, Patrick, Codi, Dylan, Brian. Marcus is next i think

In the same week as Brian's prediction:
Nick knocks on Andi's hotel room door, she is initially worried, and him asks her to basically  "walk away" WITH him from the hotel. (The opposite of Brian's prediction)

Interestingly, almost every week what the guys say about Nick regarding him with Andi is proven wrong by Nick's actions.  
It seems the guys thought how Nick interacted with them was the same as how Nick interacted with Andi.  They also made a lot of assumptions which is actually just a normal thing to do.
What we can see (which they couldn't until they started watching the show) was that Nick with Andi was a completely different thing.  Maybe that's why many of the guys are actively involved with him on SM and that people like Chris actual flew to see him.  They might have realized they were wrong about Nick and Andi's relationship.

When I first heard her say those words to Nick I cringed because it gave me flash backs of Ben and Ashley H.   I remember thinking Nick should bounce out of there if her plan is to only make him a "believer" and then dump him at FRC. I figured, how cruel and cold hearted can Andi be!  But as I have been watching the progression of their relationship and listening intentively to what Andi herself has said about her relationship with Nick, I have to believe he is F1.  Some of the things she has said about Nick:  "He just doesn't tell me he shows me", "One word to describe our relationship, Passion .. Physical, mental, emotional connection", "When Nick sees me, i feel like he sees every part of me, who I am ... I don't know, it is very powerful".  I just haven't heard her say that about Josh except saying they have this chemistry and she has strong feelings for him.

Also, I noticed from the Venice date that she said "if I can't get to the bottom of Nick, I would rather let him go , and just be heartbroken now rather than later." That statement tells me she knew Nick was F1 at that point, and since she apparently worked through that on the date, she no longer seen herself being left heartbroken by Nick. The only way that would be possible is if they were together, otherwise she would now be mending a broken heart.
