^^ thanks Longhorn. Sitting with the prospect of death really makes one appreciate life... and focus on what's important: love. I do feel like it's a honor that people let you into their lives to bear witness.
Thanks also for sharing some of your personal story about your son. Poor in possession or money does not mean poor in love. You are blessed to have each other!!

I have done a lot of hospice volunteering and it's always wise to remember that NO response is always preferred. You can't possibly imagine what a person is going through... and offering advice can be so hurtful. We give advice because we're uncomfortable in the situation. I'm sure he meant no harm, still, sorry your priest missed the opportunity to support you well at that moment.
Thank you Sue. He was actually helping me, I have co-dependency issues and was trying to be strong enough to fix my sisters death for my whole family and to volunteer at a crisis hotline to help others like my sister. His words were more to show me that I didn't need strength and it was okay to not have to fix anything. Plus, like Nick, I am really sarcastic, so the sarcasm is good. This priest and I clicked on that level.
Said priest encouraged me to get counseling to help take care of me, instead of hurting myself in an effort to make life better for others.
It is a crazy life lesson to learn. I am a fixer, and the more wounded you are the more I try to help, been doing it since I was seven years old, so I work really hard to control myself.
We have so many amazing people an this board, who do such great things. Maybe this silly show and the people brave enough to be on it, give us a little escape from the realities in life. Maybe, I should thank Andi for be the lead so I could know her awesome men.

I too think we get experiences in life that let us see that the way we think we are and how we actually are might be different. They are uncomfortable, but learning from them and growing is the key. I like that he seems to be growing from it.
Sounds like your son got a good mom!
Stuckinsc, right back at you!!! I love having a Texas Longhorn fan here as well. As things turned out, I ended up raising my son by myself, with the help of child support from his dad, who had little contact with him after our divorce. I had all the responsibility on my shoulders, but I am proud to say that my son turned out to be a wonderful man with a good head on his shoulders. And he loves to have me come visit him, his wife and my two beautiful grandsons in Austin. I am truly blessed.
Now I am going to use a football analogy. We here are all arm chair quarterbacks when it comes to these guys and gals on this show. As a Dallas Cowboys fan (SAD face), I have been heard to yell: "WTH, Romo why did you have to go throw that last interception? What were you thinking?"
I agree that we do base our feelings toward these contestants on our own experiences. I like to try and figure out things (much like Nick) so that I don't get some unwanted hurt, result, or disappointment, which can always backfire on you. I also like to look for the good in situations. So, I am a "glass half full" kind of gal. And, I think that we are not getting a true representation of who the real Nick in the real world is. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, because I highly doubt that he really comprehended the full extent of what he was getting himself into. It must be painful for him to watch this and read SM right now.

yes on the great people on this board; I haven't been around since Des' season... and there were a lot of very very passionate people here at that time... this season on the board has brought out a more respectful bunch - I like it!!

Wow; impressive - Chris is a great guy - he laid out the issues of considering to move to Iowa for Andi in such a realistic and logical way... Can't see that it will work for her, but either way, I think Chris is comfortable with who he is and his choices... and chances with Andi...Steel2009 wrote:CHris HTD:

I thought what Chris said was so sweet. I loved that he acknowledged her career, and it's importance to her. I like that he is also very well aware that not everyone could live in Iowa and that if you don't like it, a relationship will never work. Very realistic.

(very much similar here) being reading you today in different threads and wanting to say
I'm sorry to hear about your sister. Mental health is an important issue to me too and for some reason today while driving back home from my prolonged visit at my parent's house, I was listening the radio and there was a woman talking about bipolar disorder and the life-style of living with this disease. We as humans are so fragile, but then in our fragility we show strength through not giving up despite all the problems that life throws on our way. Be strong and be positive, y'all!
Comfort Zone is just a prison of our own making. / I hope you dance.

Thanks for the breakdown of Chris' sneak peek. May be why she takes him over Marcus. He knew it wasn't going to work in the end.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.
