Well, if it's true that men marry women like their mother, then Andi being Jewish should work out fine, since Josh's mother is also. giggling

It's actually ironic since, according to Jewish law, the mother determines the child's religion. Therefore, technically, Josh is Jewish and Andi is not. Although I don't know if conversion counts.

I believe that in both Josh's and Andi's families, one parent is Jewish, while the other is Catholic. I think that Andi's father is Jewish, but I may have this mixed up. That is why I said that that leaves the possibility of Andi identifying her faith as being Catholic, but I have seen no indication from her that she is committed to either of those religions. That is why I would like to hear Andi address this topic.

While technically, yes. The opposite is the case with the families. The Dorfmans are Jewish. Her mum is not a practicing Catholic. (I believe she even converted to Judaism.)
The Murrays are Christians. Lauren converted to Christianity.

Chloe, thanks for clearing that up. I did not know that. I remember reading that Andi's dad was Jewish and her mom was not. And that Josh's dad is a Christian and his mom was Jewish before converting to Christianity. I did not know about Andi's family though. Thanks!!!

I believe it was Andi's cousin who wrote an op-ed in the NY Times around the time of the premier of Andi's season- definitely identifying as Jewish. However, her identity may be more cultural than religious. And both having Jewish/Catholic families will give them plenty of support for negotiating that.

Fishing, perhaps. Andi's love language may very well be words of affirmation... in Josh she sense someone who's willing to affirm her (and Eric did not affirm her- so there's that).

I was really just kidding. I hope Andi's love language is not words of affirmation ... that can get exhausting for the other person. Speaking from experience.
