It's my understanding that Carla is JP's ex-gf and he has never been married. I don't think he and Carla were married.

After reading the posts I tried to find verification and found this from JP's interview with OK Magazine when he hosted the "Pool After Dark." The article refers to JP's "x-girlfriend Carla Rodriguez." JP was asked what was #1 on his "bucket list." He replied, “Seeing my future wife walking down the aisle,” he says. “It is very important. I’ve never been married, I’ve never been engaged, never been anything, so I want to make it very special, and it’s definitely the #1 thing because I want to have more kids.”

This does not in any way take away from the fact that JP and Carla have a great relationship and are doing a great job with co-parenting Camilia which is very admirable.     Just clarifying the relationships involved.

What I'm seeing is an adult, committed relationship between two people with a passion for life and family.  JPG chose his future wife / stepmother to Camila very carefully...as he said he would.  Children are clearly very important to Nikki as she chose pediatric nursing over all other areas of medicine.  She experiences family dynamics involving desperately ill children on a daily basis.  This makes it easier for her to handle the healthy co-parenting relationship that JPG and Carla have with Camila.

They continue to live their life together on their terms and enjoy all the benefits of their "celebrity", so to speak.  I've never seen the couples therapy show, but hope it helped them to address their challenges and earned them an honest dollar as well.  It's no different than schilling diet aids or notecards.

I don't buy the mentality of " nikki is okay with it because she said so. She and carla are in good terms and she understood the relationship of her bf to his ex wife because  they have kid and only they have is friendship and co-parenting ". I get it ,but at some point she must felt something which is normal but because she loves juan pablo very much and she is in into this relationship and matured enough to understand everything . I think this is the case. Hopefully juan pablo keep doing this to re-assure nikki that she doesn't have to worry anything and keep loving and caring about her which i think they are doing so far. I think juan pablo is lucky to find a woman like nikki. No insecurities in life. She is giving time when to express how he feels and just being there for him all the way. Note to juan pablo. Take care nikki.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. I would have given anything to have that type of relationship with my ex's girlfriend now wife. She had a huge insecurity problem, and felt that I was a threat to her. I could care less about her or the ex. My concern at the time was my son visited his Dad. Nikki I'm sure, is very grateful JPG has a good solid relationship with Camila's mother. If you trust your partner and are secure in your relationship, there's no room for childish jealousy.

JPG is very open with his relationship with Nikki. He took her to meet Camila and his ex on a date during filming. We have seen a ton of pics where they seem very happy, his tweets are very endearing to Nikki. If he wanted to be with his ex, he would. This is what I'd say to my ex's,  wife, if I wanted him, I wouldn't have left him.

This is why everyone is suspicious of their situation, because it's not normal but it should be for the child's sake. Sadly it would be more accepting if everyone was arguing.

I see a very healthy happy little girl, that's the way it should be.

I have to agree with you GA.
Everyone thought my now husband and his ex-wife relationship was weird (they have 2 boys).. I was never insecure in what me and my husband had/has.
They always said they were better friends than a couple (took them a few years to figure that out).
We always invited her and her other half to cookouts, birthdays, ect.. and they invited us to their functions.
It was funny that when she would have the boys (my husband has custody) and they would not be minding her or they were acting up, she would call ME and I would have to get the boys on the phone and talk to them. She said she just could not be the bad person when she had them, even though it was quite a bit. We did not play the games - if the boys wanted to go to their moms and she said it was ok they went, plain and simple.
When her and her other half got married we were there.
Unfortunately she was involved in domestic violence and we lost her 5 years ago, we lost one of our sons 2 1/2 years ago but, thank God for our 'weird' family because we have tons of pictures and great memories from all of the years..   
I was never insecure about were I stood or our relationship. 20 years later, still going..
