Re: DWTS 18- Meryl and Maks - Fan Forum - Updates - Discussion
Unless Maks was dropped on his head as a baby one too many times, I cannot imagine he would choose LA/Hollywood/acting over Meryl or pursuing a relationship with her if it's a possibility, especially after he has said that one of his favorite things about her is how non-Hollywood she is. He would just have to be the biggest dbag out there for this to occur. At the end of the day, Meryl could probably find a lot of men who would want to be with her, it's Maks that is the much more difficult personality in terms of finding a partner. Of course, if he stays this warm, loving, supportive, protective and just adoring of her, I will continue to root for them, and if he doesn't, he's seriously CRAYYY.iamreal2u wrote:I started to feel a little concern when reading the article. He said that he wanted to go into acting and that acting helped him through the season. BUT, when I read the last few sentences I thought that he may want certain things but they all depend on the relation with Meryl. At least that is what I took away from the interview.
Like the fact that he does not hang out with the other professionals so they do not know jack about what is going on in his life.
Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

Great article and agree with Alanna. I go back to what Val said earlier about how much Max loved Meryl. I know he wants a family and to settle down it'd be interesting to see what his view on what kind of wife he wants. Meryl is young and has goals I'm sure. Looking at his culture and how important family is....
it'd be interesting what his perspective of that relationship would be.

Luvstruck wrote:Thanks for brining this article over. Swoon, when he talks about being ready to create a child of his own and having so much to give and just needs someone to give it to. Then tops it off at the end of article when he says he probably won't return to the show (at least as pro dancer) because
"I want Meryl to be the last person I dance with, the last person I got to be passionate with and care so much for." Wow, think he wants this season to be those special memories of falling in love , hopefully Meryl is that someone he will be able to give his all to!!!!
Awwww!! what a sweet Teddy Bear that the real Maks is... just as Meryl kept trying to say ...
please get married these two!!

Thanks a LOT SLA44 for your link!
I lived in India though not in Mumbai and very curious what Maks thinks of it. And I like Karan Johar, was happy Maks likes him though he hasn't see his movies, but he is a great and very interesting guy too!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Jhalak international judge - The Times of India
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
International choreographer and the winner of the 18th season of US show Dancing With The Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, will appear as the fourth judge in tonight’s episode of Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
He will join the existing jury, featuring Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Karan Johar and Remo D’Souza. Excerpts from a conversation:
What prompted you to accept the offer?
The fact that it’s India. Had it been any other country away from Europe, I would have declined the offer. I would love to learn more about Indian culture. I’ve only heard and read about the country’s diverse traditions, but you can only learn so much from books. I wanted to experience India myself.
What do you know about the Hindi film industry and Indian dance forms?
I grew up watching Hindi movies, but don’t remember them much. However, my mother is a huge fan of Raj Kapoor and knows many other Bollywood actors as well. She fed me a lot of information about the industry.
What do you think of the talent on the show?
It’s amazing and I reckon it will get better with time. There is nine-year-old Akshat Singh, who was phenomenal, and Shakti Mohan, who was mind-blowing. I see a lot of potential in her. I hope to see various Indian dance forms here.
Do you feel the Indian version is on par with its international counterparts?
The format of the show is different here and, in a lot of ways, better. While the British version is very boring, it’s business-like in the US. But the Indian version is entertaining, as they showcase what people want to see. The content is family, quality and morally conscious. Jhalak… doesn’t solely intend to make money, but focuses on quality dancing. It’s incredible to see the amount of hard work they invest. That’s why the Hindi film industry is so huge. At the core of it, the idea is to celebrate dance. Dance, for Indians, means celebration.
How will you be as a judge — soft or overtly critical?
I am not going to be loud. My comments are not over the top like ‘Oh my God’ or ‘This is the best performance I have seen so far’. I’m very factual.
What do you think of fellow judges?
Everybody loves Madhuri, she is a global phenomenon. My social network blew up moments after I put up a picture of mine with her. Karan is very cool and I have heard he is a big director. He has a good sense of humour. Remo is also very nice and has a vast knowledge of dance. The scores that both of us gave to each contestant were surprisingly the same. They have all accomplished a great deal in their respective fields. I am humbled and honoured to be judging the show with them.
Did you feel out of place since this is your first appearance, while they have been part of the show for three seasons?
Not at all. I have given 12 years to dancing. When I take up something, I tell myself to go and give my best. I understand there is a language barrier, but I will learn it on the job.
