Per Andi: "Once we got through that and were enjoying the sunset, that's when Nick went in for our first kiss and it was so passionate and romantic. Later that night, we met at the beautiful Santa Barbara courthouse for dinner.
Throughout dinner I found myself relating to Nick in so many ways. On a mental level, we were definitely connected, and for many reasons, it was an easy decision to give Nick the rose on the date. "
There's the cerebral connection and passionate kiss, I saw last night. Hope it's genuine!

Andi Dorfman's Bachelorette Blog: My First Kiss with Nick Was 'Passionate and Romantic'
Andi Dorfman is the Bachelorette! After a dramatic exit from Juan Pablo's season of The Bachelor, the assistant district attorney, who lives in Atlanta, is searching for love once again on ABC's hit franchise. Andi, 27, will be blogging for PEOPLE.com every week about the men, the dates and the difficult decisions she'll make on her road to romance. So check back each week. You can also follow Andi on Twitter.
I have to say this was one of the best weeks of dating I could ever ask for.
It was my first time in Santa Barbara, and we stayed at the beautiful Bacara – right on the beach. My first date was with Nick. Obviously, he had made a great impression on me the very first night, and I wanted to get to know him more. Nick had voiced his skepticism about this whole process, so I thought he would enjoy a simple and very realistic date like bike riding and hiking.
During our picnic, I could tell Nick was nervous, but I found it endearing. While we were hiking, I knew I wanted to show Nick this special place to watch the sunset, but what you didn't get to see was that we actually had to climb through a narrow hole in a rock wall to get there.
Once we got through that and were enjoying the sunset, that's when Nick went in for our first kiss and it was so passionate and romantic. Later that night, we met at the beautiful Santa Barbara courthouse for dinner.
Throughout dinner I found myself relating to Nick in so many ways. On a mental level, we were definitely connected, and for many reasons, it was an easy decision to give Nick the rose on the date.
Meeting Boyz II Men
The group date was one of my favorite things I have ever done in my life. I think by now everyone knows I am a terrible dancer, but I am an equally terrible singer. Even though this date featured singing and it's not something I like people to hear me do, I figured why not join the guys? They literally put it all out there last week on the group date, so I wanted them to know that I was doing this with them. Plus, who could resist singing with Boyz II Men?
I was so excited for the guys to meet Boyz II Men. I think all of us can remember a time in our lives where we slow danced to one of their classic hits. Although they needed no formal introduction, it was fun to introduce the band. They could not have been more humble and funny.
Wanya's Dating Advice
While the guys split up into two groups to rehearse, I had a private lesson with Wanya. We just laughed and laughed during my private lesson. When we first sat down, Wanya started giving me dating advice (some not so good, honestly) and then told me what he thought about each of the guys. He picked up immediately on which of the guys I was already into and then he went on to tell me which ones I needed to let go. Not going to lie, it was hilarious.
The guys were ecstatic to hear that they would be performing live at a Boyz II Men's concert later that day. When we arrived at the concert, we were all blown away by how many fans came out. After watching Boyz II Men perform some of their new songs, it was our turn to sing the classic "I'll Make Love to You." I have to say, we completely and utterly butchered that song. No doubt about it. But it was a blast! We all had so much fun and it made me so happy to see all the smiles on the guys' faces.
That excitement definitely carried over into the cocktail party. I wanted to talk to Cody first and give him a hard time. What you didn't see was that the week before, Cody had actually tricked me by telling me he didn't think this was the right fit for him. He told me he was going to leave because after he thought long and hard about it, he realized he wanted to become ... a stripper! He completely fooled me so I had to get him back, and I think I did! It was so hard to keep a straight face.
I really enjoyed talking to Marcus that evening. He started to open up to me, and we had our very first kiss. Despite how good that moment was, I decided to give the group date rose to Josh because I felt like he really made an effort to tell me how he felt about me during our one-on-one time and I wanted to encourage him to continue to open up.
The one-on-one date with JJ was absolutely hilarious! I seriously could not have asked for a better person to have as a date for this activity. JJ had such a great sense of humor and he allowed me to come out of my shell and just have fun with pretending to be old. We had so much fun going incognito in the park. I have to say though, getting off that makeup was nearly impossible. It took hours! JJ and I couldn't stop laughing at dinner because both of us still had glue and makeup on our face that we just couldn't get off.
Ron Would Have Gotten a Rose
Hearing the sad news about Ron really made my heart ache for him. He was such a fun guy who definitely would have gotten a rose that week, but I understood that he had to go home during that difficult time.
The rose ceremony involved a lot more drama then I knew about! But there were some really sweet and romantic moments during the cocktail party too. Nick sending flowers was romantic, unexpected and yet so simple. I think it showed how realistic Nick was in this process. What I mean by that is, Nick made an effort to make this process feel more like we were dating back in Chicago. I really appreciated that, and as a woman, that's definitely how I want to be treated.
Marcus continued to share his emotions with me, which I loved. It was refreshing to have someone like Marcus just put his feelings out there. He expresses his emotions despite knowing that I couldn't really say anything return.
Don't forget to tune in tomorrow night, for another chapter of my journey. I take the boys east to beautiful Connecticut and face one of my biggest fears on an extremely challenging date. On the group date, I get back up from some powerful women, as I have the guys compete against each other for more time with me. You definitely don't want to miss that!
Thanks for reading and watching.
Xoxo,
Andi

The next paragraph doesn't seem to fit after just saying that Marcus started to open up but Josh made the effort during the one on one. OTOH it was refreshing for Marcus to share his emotoins which she loved.

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelorette' episode 4
I sat down to write this blog and suddenly I felt exactly how we all felt when we watched the full episode with the rose ceremony attached. You see as we went through this tragedy and mourned the death of this bright young man, Eric Hill, we were at the same time truly trying to figure out how to deal and mourn his death professionally. Early on, as I stated in a blog, it was clear to us we should show Eric’s scenes, and I still believe that was the right decision. But we’ve honestly made these decisions as we’ve gone along this season, each time just trying to do what’s right by Eric and his family, but also still telling everybody the story of what really happened to Andi and the rest of us during this journey.
One of the game-time decisions we made was to not show last night’s rose ceremony. Originally we had it in like normal, but as we watched the show after Eric left, it just didn’t make sense. As I said, the only thing that felt right was to talk about Eric, so that’s what we did. So as I sat down to write this blog I guess I just felt the same way. I’m just not compelled to talk about the dates and roses given out while we were in Connecticut. The only thing that feels right is to write about Eric and the scenario that played out in putting this episode together. I understand this may bug some of you and you may even stop reading this, but like everything else I’m just gonna do what feels right.
There was a long debate back and forth on if we would remove the rose ceremony and if we did replace it with an interview, what would that interview look and feel like? The night Andi and I got together to shoot that interview, we both sat there and looked at each other in silence and thought the same thing. So we just did what the two of us always do: We just started talking. We just decided to dive into it without a real clear idea of where it would go other than we would discuss Eric. Andi is such a sensitive, bright young woman, and I think it turned out perfect. I felt she was able to articulate her thoughts and feelings incredibly well. It’s very rare I’ll watch anything I’m a part of and think, “I wouldn’t change a thing.” You can’t ever reach perfection in this business, but that’s one of the things I love. It’s something that can’t ever be mastered, but you can attempt to get as close as possible. While I don’t think by any means it was perfect, I wouldn’t change one thing about the interview you saw Andi and I have about Eric that night. Eric was a smart guy and he was an instigator. He loved to stir the pot a little bit, and that’s what he did with Andi. When I saw that sly little smile slide across his face while arguing with Andi that night, I just laughed. Even in that moment, he was having fun. At the end of it all, they ended their disagreement with a hug goodbye. When does that ever happen on our show? We said goodbye to Eric that night having no idea obviously that we were really saying goodbye. I didn’t get a chance to see him as he left as I often do. I just assumed I’d see the guy at the Men Tell All special; we all did.
Something I explained during the interview that you need to understand while watching the show is Eric’s accident didn’t happen for a few more weeks. It wasn’t until Andi’s final hometown visit that we learned of the tragedy. I’m not exactly sure how or what we will do to handle this on the show. As I said above, we are making these decisions as we go. But my only promise is, as we have done up until this point, we will continue to do the best we can to be honorable and respectful. But when you see the tease after the show or the next episode and think, “How can Andi and the guys just act like nothing happened?” It’s because at the time, it hadn’t happened yet.

I want to thank you for allowing me to use this space this week to express these thoughts and feelings. There are no rules to situations like this, but it’s what felt right, and I’ll be honest: It’s a bit cathartic for the author. I leave you tonight with some of Eric’s last words on our show, and his quote has to do with love. “It is the reason to live. Love leads to family, and those two together is what life is all about.” Amen!

Sorry CH...but that hug as you call it was Andi barely tolerating him. She couldn't pull away fast enough out of what was a half hearted hug at best and her facial expression was pissed. So they did not just make up/agree to disagree and hug it out. And that interview was really a self serving attempt to make Andi look better...and it didn't.
You could be the juiciest, most ripe peach, but there is still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches.

CH definitely spins. When Andi said "thank you for your time", she was barely looking at Eric. And I don't think Eric was trying to stir the pot (although more than likely the producers were by egging him on to approach Andi and tell her what he had been thinking about since their last conversation); I think the smile CH referred to was more a reflection of the kindness of Eric's soul as he witnessed Andi's growing upset. I think Eric was trying to make his point (in his attempt to have a genuine, honest conversation) in the most gentle, diplomatic way he could by using the word "poker face" which, in my opinion, would be taken as a non-inflammatory, if not neutral, word by many. I think what escalated the situation was Andi's interpretation of the word. I would need to watch it again (although I don't plan to - once was more than enough for me) but I believe Andi used the words acting and perhaps fake in re-phrasing what she was hearing Eric say. So then when asked if that's what he thought (that she was acting) in his honesty Eric said yes.

I finally watched and agree that Eric attempted to deliver his truths in the "most gentle diplomatic way". She clearly misread the intent of his message and amplified the content. To me, this encounter was more challenging for Andi then rappelling down a building, and less successful.

I wonder if people would have been this angry with Andi if Eric had not died it is unfortunate the way things turned out but I do not think she should be taking all the blame this is the way this show works and he should not have signed up for it
