You're so right! I really don't know what he really is like. We've only seen very little of him during Andi's season. We need more posters to come forward and root for him.

Im perfectly happy with Chris as next Bachelor. Even though Im a Nick fan and wanted him to be the lead, I know there is just too much controversy with him, too many detractors, so my second choice was Chris. I liked Chris a lot and there is something about him that reminds me of Sean. That's a very good thing in my book. Chris is settled, he knows what he wants, not wishy washy. He seems pretty mature, empathetic and a gentleman from what I gathered in Andis season. Plus I think he has a sense of humor (lets put lipstick on this pig) they just didn't show enough of it, and in my opinion he is pretty good looking in a manly kind of way. So yes, Im excited if he is the one. Smiley

I agree Chris does resembles Robert Mitchum , But also looks a little like Jack Cassidy , Shirley Jones Husband .
I forgot the TV series She was on .

While none of us really "know" these people until we meet them face to face, I felt I knew more about him than any of the other contestants on Andi's season. At least as much as Sean and Desiree... and Ashley H. In contrast, Juan Pablo was simply the accented soccer player among three Daddies on Desiree's show... and she couldn't even pronounce his name correctly. Likewise... Andi was simply the one who "chewed out" Juan after her fantasy date (like an attorney)... and was the one who was quite skilled with the gun on her hometown... and got sprayed by geysers in New Zealand. Yet, going into her season, all we knew was that she is an Alpha Female who keeps any "bad boys" in line.

We've seen Chris at his work, both in the fields and behind a desk. His family, specifically Mom, was most talkative on the hometown, detailing what any future partner could expect with Chris' lifestyle. The show even gave us a tour of his house. He was definitely seen as "romantic" under his rustic no-nonsense exterior, only Andi wasn't exactly the romantic type with him as much. We've also seen him cry a little on screen at least. Also "melted" her heart, whatever that meant.

No discussion about his religious beliefs (if any), which distinguishes him from Sean. (Sean would be very happy to preach and lecture us if we asked him to, but Fleiss has always been skittish about "faith" on his show and the editors downsized that whole side of him.) However, we know Chris can curse up a storm if necessary... and counter those who aren't upfront with him. Also the messageboards have milked his previous "wild youth" brushes with the law, so nobody views him squeaky clean. Yet his speech in Belgium, about being old and "tired" in his thirties and not as vigorous, confirms he is ready to settle down and his "wild youth" is simply that... his "youth", not his present.

Add to this the very wonky edit he got (a.k.a. the silly "Easter Eggs"). Every time Andi or Harrison brought up the words "husband", "marriage" or "man of her dreams", Chris was shown instead of Josh. Don't even ask me why!!!! After all, Josh may potentially marry Andi some day too. Maybe to "smokescreen" those of us who bothered to notice? It should be noted that he got equal amount of screentime as the other Top Four Guys, just not as much with HER. Certainly no tongue-action like Marcus. No accusations behind closed doors like Nick. Got the word "gentleman" three times on the show.

I also like Chris a lot and I'm looking forward to watching him on my TV screen if he's going to be the next TB. I want to see more of him in his element.

Good post JBF ~ I hope you will be with us if Chris is the next bachelor, which of course I hope he is as do some of my friends that are not on this board. I don't think he is going to be boring at all and think he is going to have a very good personality with a great, maybe somewhat dry, sense of humor.

I like what I have seen of Chris thus far. Yes, he may have been a little wild in his youth, but that seems to be clearly in the past. He seems sincere, mature and ready to settle down. His hometown was my favourite ever on this show. He became much more relaxed and hence, more natural in his home environment. I just hope that the tptb don't try to change him too much and that he has the good sense to stick to his principles like Sean did. I wish him the best, but since I am fully aware of just what the producers can do, I am also keeping my fingers crossed for him....and my toes...and may have to light a candle for him.

As to the bolded...Couldn't hurt...

It is plain nasty in other areas of the board. I don't understand how people could be so mean to someone they don't know. I don't understand why it is necessary to be mean to someone because the person you like wasn't chosen. I wouldn't have wanted Nick or Arie to be chosen but I wouldn't feel the need to put them down.
