Him having his earphones in is what makes me think he is on the phone.
It's a bit rude to be having a conversation with the person sitting beside you with them in, no?
And I don't think we'd be able to hear a person on the other end of the phone through them, so that's what makes me believe it's just general chit chat of other passengers that can be heard.

Agreed. I don't hear someone asking Nick questions and him answering. I hear his answers and then misc. plane noise including conversations from those around him.

Also, I'm not sure if some people are speaking about a specific reference, but he does acknowledge a woman once, but that's because she kind of mockingly and rudely says the guy next to her is speaking so loudly on the phone. Nick turns to her and says "sorry." That's the only time he directly speaks to someone on the plane. Otherwise it's obvious to me he's speaking to someone on the phone through his head phones.

This is what I hear but it's difficult to make out, therefore it doesn't make much sense. I'm done with this vid, I can't handle trying to listen and watching him eat and talk at the same time.

I am done with that video too. We will know in June! I did find it oodd that he was laughing while talking about Josh. Also don't understand why he would have earphones in and talking so loud about something so private, instead of having the phone up to his ear. I mean, that's just disrespectful to those around you.

Probably to hear the other person on the other end better....And when you have on earphones talking you really don't know how loud you are talking add that to him venting it all seems logical to me..

IA The laughing while talking about Josh and loosing the train of thought. Talking about it when filming just wrapped up so openly is what I questioned. Maybe MF himself called him.

I must be loosing it then.  I hear questions directed at him and him answering them.  The questions I am hearing do directly correspond to his answer do don't think it is someone else chatting around the plane.

Maybe it's not in this thread, but I think various posters have said they do hear the above.
It was because I heard him and heard others talking to him and him answering that I interpreted the ear buds for music and not for phone use.

In my opinion, there's only one time someone says something to him. There's clearly a woman sitting next to him in the middle seat and she mockingly and kind of rudely says the guy next to her is talking on the phone extremely loud (I actually think she might be on the phone too). He turns to her, looks at her and just says sorry. He looks away, kind of starts to whisper back on the phone again, and just looks around in front of him. I don't hear any questions being asked. I occasionally hear background voices, but it just seemed like other passengers talking around him. He's talking on his phone the same way I use my iPhone if I'm in public sometimes. Also, he could possibly use his iPhone for his music, which could be why he has the head phones in to begin with. Everyone has their own opinion though.

That was my interpretation too. But you can hear a woman's voice, then his and they seem to be talking about the same thing. I guess I should just drop this, but it will nag at me for sure as something just not adding up right.

^ I've said this a couple of times now, but the woman's voice you might be hearing is the woman sitting next to him in the middle. She mockingly says along the lines of "the guy sitting next to me is talking extremely loud" and he slowly looks at her and replies to her and then he continues on in his phone conversation.
