Ohhhh nice photo.
He seems nice but I can't get past the Gomer Pile "aw shucks" droop he has.
But I am happy to be outvoted.
Or to just look at him without a shirt ;)

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

I don't buy any woman wanting to live in Iowa, unless she has a similar background or he's moving. Not buying it.

It's not about what's 'wrong' with it. It's just not a place that has much to it. It doesn't even have a sports team. Name me something special about Iowa that would make someone want to vacation there?

As someone who grew up in that part of the Midwest, unless you are really into Agriculture, it isn't the most exciting place. My friends and I all refer to Iowa as the land of pig farms and corn fields. That's not a knock against the state as my brother lives there and works in Agriculture, but for those who don't have an interest in that world and/or grew up around it, it could get boring real quick.

Absolutely agree. I lived in mid-Missouri after college for 12 yrs and nearly became a stepford. It was pretty frightening.

There is nothing wrong with Iowa. However, he lives in Arlington IA. The closest bigger town is Cedar Rapids. There is an airport there. BUT another 30 miles and you are in Iowa City, the home of University of Iowa. They have a fairly active social life and being a college town there are several things to do. It would be a ways away true, but not a cultural wasteland.umngirl wrote:GuardianAngel wrote:What's wrong with Iowa?

Another source indicates that he lives in Alden IA. That is not too far from Des Moines, the state capital. Lots to do in Des Moines: concerts, Iowa cubs baseball, shopping, etc.
Having said that: it is a wonderful place to raise children. Because the schools are smaller kids get to do lots of things that they might not get to do in a larger school: be class president, prom queen, drum major, captain of the basketball, football team, etc, etc, etc.
Soooo is it the worst thing that could happen to someone: NO it isn't.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids and it was a great place to live and raise a family. Now I have moved to a big city in Minnesota...and we have a sports team and MOA. WHOOP, WHOOP!!! FYI----Iowa City is one of the coolest towns around. JMO. Andi would NEVER EVER move to Iowa.

I also think they might believe they'll get away from the usual fame seekers if they know the Bach is Chris... oh, sure, they'll be 20 fame seekers, but 5 or so won't be or won't care. And they'll be the ones for him.
The interesting thing- you look at Chris Lambton, who most definitely lives on Cape Cod- seasonally a hot place, but year round, not so much, yet he and Peyton have found a little bit of the spot light- just the right amount to fit their lives (anyone see them yesterday on the Today show?). Similar opportunities can be available to Chris and whoever his lady turns out to be.

While I don't disagree as someone who grew up in a smallish town in a family full of farmers, Andi ain't moving to Iowa. She just isn't. It's not nearly a big enough city with things she likes to do. She's a city girl. Chris is a country guy.
And I've been to both Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Both nice cities. But not anything special to someone like Andi who enjoys the city life.
