I don't. I guess I just don't find him all that attractive. I don't think he looks 'hokey' in any way. Plus, I'd take hokey over a Cody any day.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

Sorry to have ruffled feathers .... I should have put IMO at the end of my post.
For the record, I don't find him physically attractive at all, and it's the photos of him that conjured up that impression for me. He could be Einstein for all I know, but right now that he looks hokey to me. MOO

No need to put "IMO". The assumption is that anything you post is your opinion.
I don't particularly like his looks either but hate to write someone off pre-season since I usually end up liking those I'd never have thought from their pics and not liking my usual types.

Chris is by far the most liked and commented on from the Facebook post of the pics/bios. Lots of love that he's a country boy and farmer from Iowa. I really think TPTB will hit the jackpot with him for a lot of viewers.

I know. The concept of a "farmer" has taken roots as the old-days farming. He's a lot more than that. He's into real estate and other ventures so naming him as a simple farmer has really labeled him. I think somehow it should be noticed of how there is more to this guy than the label of "simple farmer".jcrbil wrote:richmondrose wrote:Okay, nothing against this guy, but he just looks hokey to me. I can't get past the Jed Clampett vibe from him.
I doubt Jed Clampett's favorite magazine was Forbes. Chris is in agriBUSINESS, which is a whole lot more than walking behind a plow especially when done on a large and/or corporate scale- it's often international in scope. And these days there are hedge funds put together specifically to purchase midwest farmland.

Yep even TPTB have put "Farmer from Arlington, IA" as his profession for his bio. Of course they always put some crazy things down as people's professions so you really couldn't expect more from them. ITA he is a lot more than that and I am looking forward to seeing him on my TV screen! He is the one I am most looking forward to see more of and I am sure I will not be disappointed. Besides, where is it ever written or said that farmers can't be as sexy as the next guy? I can't really get to excited about what is put down as answers to the stupid questions they are asked anyway and who is to say that they are really the guy's answer vs something TPTB decided to throw in there.

I know...who's to say the producers didn't fill out the bio sections on their own. To label someone as a "simple farmer" kind of doesn't make sense. There is a lot more to Chris I think than that and I am really looking forward to getting to know the guy we see. BTW, I do know some sexy "farmers". I am even married to one who happens to be one of the smartest guys I know.SLA44 wrote:Aunties_Love wrote:I know. The concept of a "farmer" has taken roots as the old-days farming. I read through a lot of the comments on his picture on facebook and people were really complimentary. Things like finally someone from Iowa, that he must be a solid, stand up guy, many just saying they love "farmers" as ABC described him on his picture. ( I realize that's a simplistic, inaccurate description of his career). There were no negative assumptions being made from the many people who liked the looks and sound of him. I think he'll have a lot of fans. He may be a runaway hit with the general viewers.
I don't think using the word farmer implies anything negative, it's a quick easy way to introduce where and what he comes from. I think it just implies to people he is a tough, hardworking, strong man.

Gosh, if he is TB next year, I hope the machine doesn't spoof on this and make him out to be a) either another Oliver Wendell Holmes via Green Acres or b) the bach. millionaire.
I can see them throwing hay all over the floor in the mansion for the Meat and Geek and having a group date like a county fair--who can churn the best butter and bake the best pie.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, bye Felicia!

I pictured the M&G being held in a hay or corn field the first time I heard him referred to as a farmer. Pitch fork in hand and the whole picture - chewing on a piece of straw. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a farmer and god only knows we need them but I guess the only point I am trying to make is people can get strange pictures in their heads.
Don't get me wrong he is still the one that I am the most interested in from the first time I saw his picture. There is something about him that has intrigued me and I think it has to do with him reminding of Chris Lambton from the first glimpse of him.
