I think DeAnna came to the author's mind because she was from Georgia, and there are a few small things DeAnna and Andi share just from that.

Just how much I will end up liking her as the Bachelorette will really depend on if she ends up being lucky in love.  I was thrilled to have Ashley be the Bachelorette because of her brains, but what really made the season was that leap-off-the-screen chemistry with JP.  OK, I'm melting just thinking about that .  So much of how the lead does depends on their cast and their interactions with that cast.  So ... wait and see.

Re:the bolded...While Jillian is my all-time fave, Ashley is a close 2nd for me. I too was excited when Ashley was chosen, but TPTB played up her insecurities more than her brain. I hope they tell the story of the intelligent rather than the insecure Andi. Since they chose the "ADA who is prosecuting gangs" as part of her package, maybe they plan to tell the story of the smart, tough woman. I hope she has a few quality guys.

You are right, it was disappointing how they weakened Ashley. I hope they don't do the same with Andi.

Out with the Juan Pablo and in with the new! Fans of the hit ABC series, “The Bachelor,” were glowing on Monday night when the reality show aired its “After the Final Rose” special. No, not because Juan Pablo finally revealed who the lucky winner was, but because Andi Dorfman had officially admitted to being the next Bachelorette for the 2014 season.

“I’m Andi and I am the next ‘Bachelorette,’” Dorfman announced in her introduction video. “This is insane. I’m speechless. It’s so surreal.”

This caugt my eye if this is pretainig to her bachelor intro (cant remember if she had one) then in my eyes who was playing who here? She was the FAKE all along.

^^^  That whole article makes no sense; they are soliciting applications to be on Andi's season starting May 19, but the show has already been cast.

And I'm really sure that the intro video they are referring to is the one introducing her as the Bachelorette, shown at the ATFR

Andi Dorfman Goes on California Beach Date With Bachelorette Contestant

Things are already heating up for Andi Dorfman on the set of the Bachelorette.

Days after the former Bachelor contestant was announced as the new Bachelorette, the Atlanta-based assistant district attorney was spotted on her first beach date with a contestant on the ABC show in Ventura, Calif., a source tells E! News.

During the duo's nearly two-and-a-half hour outing, only members of the production crew were present as Dorman and her possible new beau shared a picnic on the beach, looked out at the ocean, and later participated in some beach activities like beach paddle and kite flying; They also took a helicopter ride.

"Andi seemed excited and relaxed for the date, however, her date seemed very nervous," the source said. "He started to get more relaxed once they were settled."

Once they were, the contestant was seen flipping his date in the air and resting his hand on her butt, among other things. Dorfman wore a white bikini for the occasion, while her companion rocked colorful shorts.

The 26-year-old brunette beauty was officially announced as the next star of The Bachelorette Monday, following The Bachelor's After the Rose ceremony. "I'm looking to find that great love," Dorfman said, following the announcement. "I have a great life. I just don't have anyone to spend it with."

The new season of The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 19.
