I've seen a few comment on Nikki's hair. At my daughter's last dance so many girls had their hair like that. They use a curling iron shaped like a cone and wrap it around and just hold it with their fingers. It's a beachy waves look. UMNgirl please jump in if I'm wrong, but I believe that is the look she is going for.

I haven't bothered to post much because I just feel so convinced Nikki is F1. I thought that blurry lantern was yet another clue. The only thing I really wonder about is if they are still together. I'm leaning towards no based on her friendship with Andi and that piece she posted about support for the gay football player. I felt like she may have been trying to separate herself from the backlash JP was getting over his comments. Also, he appears to be pretty cranky at the WTA. He also told a reporter that if he had it to over again he would not do the show. If he met the love of your life, it would seem worth a few months of bad press. He just generally seems bitter and annoyed, not happy and in love.

you could be right,lex. some editing have pointed this matter out..i think JBF can elaborate more. I also found several "true colors" issue pointing to Nikki by the editors. Still need to figuring that one out. Putting aside hints from socmed, this is what give me pause about Nikki as the F1.

Wwwweeeeeeelllll... that was discussed... twice on screen. Clare wasn't the only one. Elise said it first. All is fair usage here. (Of course, nobody worries about discussing how "crazy" Clare is... LOL!)

THE EDIT is hinting... not stating it specifically (so you can't be sure just yet)... that Andi's grilling of Juan was a "foreshadowing" of things to come. Somebody attacks him later and not just the ladies at WTA. Maybe it will be shown or maybe it will be edited out, but still happened "behind the scenes". (Ben F. cursing out Ashley H. in Fiji was cut since he was groomed for the next lead. If Andi is 100% the next Bachelorette, they would have scaled down her attack more than they did in order to make her more "lovable".)

Positively, Nikki is sympathetic of Juan's situation with Victoria. However, pay close attention to how the face-shots match the discussion about Victoria: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

AGAIN... I said this before. This may mean NOTHING. Both Nikki and Clare are total "sweethearts" at the end of this regardless if they get chosen or not. Yet there are quite a few "curios" in the edit that are baffling.

However just one screencap doesn't do justice. One can easily argue that, despite his arm behind Clare, he may be thinking of Nikki or somebody else who is nowhere in sight here. That is what the "gobsmack" look is about.

Yet a sequence of images is more revealing.

...was Clare telling him she's loving falling in love with him. His reaction is intense focus, but I didn't detect any tears. Just instant touching and lots of "you're so cute". He looks rather flushed (the pro-Nikki camp will obviously disagree) when she says "I know you don't have to say anything back." I guess we can contrast... or compare... this scene with past seasons, all downsizing the F1 connection as much as possible:

Only after hearing the "absolutely fallen in love with you" in the video message does he start tearing up.

Now... maybe he does this with Nikki too? Maybe. He does say "I like you" a lot with her. We will check out your screencaps of their scenes too.

I'm not really invested in this season, much less the couple. Just curious. I'm sorry I don't recall who said this, but someone mentioned a few pages back that while ABC got a different type of bachelor this season they have the same type of girls as always. I think that is very true. Where were the latino girls that can dance and speak his language? They said they were flooded with applications?? Who is it that doesn't care.. JP or TPTB?

There is also something odd in the Andi argument scenario. During their breakup scene he is wearing a yellow shirt however in some of the ITMs he has a tan shirt with pockets and in those he is definitely more terse. Any theories?

I think they left out the part where Andi picked up a coconut and smacked him on the head. Did you notice the lump on his forehead?   I'd guess that the tan shirt PIs were later after he had a chance to stew about her basically calling him a shallow, vapid, narcissist and on tv! I'm not a fan of Andi. Not looking forward to her season at all.

Although Andi's whining and her facial expressions got to me in the end, I'm going to cut her a little slack. TPTB (her cheerleaders) got her reved up for sure and she responded accordingly.

I don't have the skill to screencap but it is not a shirt worn anywhere else in this episode. I don't recall seeing it on previous episodes either but maybe it was really early on or will be seen in the future. It's not the usual style he wears so that's why it stood out to me.
